This is a fun-looking, whimsical home garden kit, probably ideal for youngsters, but fine for us grown-ups too.The instructions make setting up simple enough. You unpack the two soil packages, add water and they expand, enough to fill the basket. There are 2 seed packets included as well but I was surprised that there were only about 16 seeds total. The seeds are ultra-tiny, so care must be taken when opening the envelopes. I went online to the Buzzy website and there is a way to request replacement seed packets if you should need them., like if they fail to grow. It's sitting in the front window and I'm waiting 2 to 6 weeks to see if they germinate. Overall this looks like a very nice kit and the product definitely has a "fun" feel to it.Fingers crossed!I'm just adding a little note to this review a couple of weeks after posting it: the replacement seed pack arrived about a week after I requested it from Buzzy. So allow me to add that the company is responsive and offers excellent customer service!

Nothing grew

Nothing has sprouted for us and it has been almost two months since planting the seeds. You have to drill your own drainage holes in the container. The container is plastic, so if that is an issue for you, this is not a lot for you.As just compressed dirt and a container, this isn't a good value for the money. If the seeds would germinate, it is still over priced. The dirt was a decent quality once expanded in water. It did break up and expand easily which was nice. It is a cute container, but unless we messed up planting or something, not worth the cost.

This thing is just cute! I’m also easily amused but it’s a strawberry basket and it’s quite a bit bigger than I was expecting. It doesn’t come with drain holes but does have areas thinned out and marked out for drilling your own, or poking them. Whichever you like. The drainage is sufficient with just those holes. It also came with enough coir to fill the basket sufficiently. I initially didn’t think it came with enough seeds but there was a second seed packet hiding so it was definitely enough. I already have a handful of tiny seedlings so hopefully they continue to grow and produce for me. Would make an adorable gift for someone into gardening.

I wanted to love this. As it is, I only like it. Two-and-a-half stars worth, but I rounded up because I like the picket fence look of it.First, it is cute/attractive, which is nice since it's designed to be used indoors. You certainly can use it outdoors, if you'd prefer, but it was specifically designed as an indoor planter. It's fairly simple to use; just hydrate the sphagnum/soil pods that are included and sprinkle the seeds on top and wait 4-6 weeks for them to grow. So, I couldn't tell you if the seeds were DOA, or if this set up will even work because I won't know for several weeks. I'm giving it the best shot, by putting it on a warming mat, covering the top with some plastic wrap to create a "greenhouse" effect, setting it under grow lights and taking care of the one thing they failed to address: drainage and air circulation. Well, I guess that's technically two things.Even the instructions say, "No drainage? No problem! Just drill some holes in the bottom." Okay, but why didn't YOU drill the holes in the bottom? They're basically telling you upfront, "Hey, heads-up. There's something you're definitely going to need, but we decided to make that a fun little DIY project for you. Hope you have some power tools on hand."Luckily, hubby has a drill and I had him put holes in the bottom for drainage, and also the sides for air circulation, which strawberries really need.My other complaint is that they provide you with two separate seed packets, but a grand total of about ten seeds; five in each packet. What the? Just put them all in one packet. Why are you teasing me, and why are you making me open two separate packets?Anyway, in my experience, strawberries are pretty easy to grow. I once started a new plant accidentally when I shoved a half-eaten berry into the garden bed next to my berry patch, just wanting it to break down and compost into the soil. Instead, new strawberry plants shot up the next Spring. We'll see how these ten little seeds do in this cute little, DIY-finished planter. In the end, I think $35 is an awful lot to pay for an unfinished plastic container, a couple cups of compressed sphagnum and ten strawberry seeds.

Everything you need is included in this cute little kit. I was excited to get started, so I put it all together as soon as it arrived. As many others mentioned, I was concerned when I realized each packet only had 4 or tiny little seeds. They do market these as guaranteed to grow, so maybe that’s why you only get a few. I patiently waited for any sign of life and on week 6, I saw some sprouts. I had mine inside, sitting in a south side window. Now that we have sprouts, I have moved them outside. Overall, it was super easy to get started and if you have the patience, you will be rewarded.

This Strawberry Patch basket grow set is adorable. It comes with everything you need to grow strawberries right in the basket. The basket is charming and sturdy, and the set comes with soil disks plus two packets of strawberry seeds. I plan on getting the seeds going this weekend. I will update if anything goes horribly wrong, but I do a lot of gardening and love plants, so I expect that I will have fruit from this. This set would be excellent as a gift for the plant lover in your life, or even for yourself as a self care present. Five stars for sure. Highly recommend.

This is super easy to setup, the instructions are slightly off or the wording is bad. You need the water requested per puck, not for both. They have already sprouted and so they are active seeds and sprout from a south facing window.I reduced one star because there is no drainage, you'll have to be careful with watering, you don't want to over water, but it's harder to tell when to water and how much. Overall I'm happy with it.
