The seller's( Japanese Maples and Evergreens, description differs from the actual item received. They describe the tree as being over one year old and approximately 16-20 inches tall, whereas the item I received was just a tiny seedling. When compared to a standard pencil (7-7.5 inches), the seedling is even shorter, as shown in my photo. I will never buy from them again. Lesson learned

I think some of you are being a bit much. This species grows pretty quickly, and any bigger would more than likely create "breaking" issues. Mine came healthy, even with a delay in transit. While its not as tall as advertised, its going to be, because its alive. I live in South AL. It came from Oregon I believe...It's also a harder plant to even find bc the seeds dont keep well. I cant tell you how thankful I am that I found this. Been looking for a few years. When they were popular I didnt have the space or yard. Now that I do, they are so hard to find! Hoping to grow more from this lil' guy. Thank you so much!

Plant is still doing well. It was shipped well and did not show signs of stress. I love different types of unique plants. This one caught my attention.

I received a 12 inch sapling with 10 leaves and a very thin and browning stalk. One leaf is almost dead and will fall off soon, but all others are green, even though they're shriveling up, so it's alive and should survive with the correct care. I'm a bit surprised it survived the shipping due to it being completely open and unsecured in a plain cardboard box, where it was shaking around loosely without any padding or way for it to remain stationary in the box. Nothing but the sapling in dry soil in a seed starting plastic container. No paperwork or care information at all; just a few pieces of trash from the tape that they used to close the box with one adhesive strip under the last flap. Considering what type of plant it is, I guess the price was worth it, but the care with shipping is pretty bad. Hopefully I can keep it alive long enough for it to start recovering from the stress it's obviously endured.

This tree was supposed to be a year old and 16”-20” tall based on the “about this item” section. It’s a seedling.

Plant I received is only 4 inches tall, not 16 to 20 inches. It does appear healthy though and was received in good condition.
