Bulbs look good, moist, no fungus, seem healthy. Didn’t plant yet. Disappointed that I was shorted by one bulb.

Bulbs were good size, firm and disease (rot) free.I hope they emerge "True to Type" so I get what is shown in the listing.

I searched for red Elephant Ears and this company's above photo came up. I also bought some red Caladiums for a different spot in garden that was more suitable for them. I was confused when I got the bulbs. They came up on ad as Elephant Ears but pkg was more clearly labeled Caladiums. When I asked why the name Caladiums was on my Elephant Ears, the company went to a " they're in the same family" response. Humans and whales are both mammals but we require different living environments. Caladiums and Elephants deal with high sun differently. When I order a plant whose name you have on its package, after that's what comes up on your website under the search for that plant, that's the plant I expect, NOT one in the same family. I have since learned from several Master Gardeners there are no Red Elephant Ears. When I asked the company to send me bulbs that were actually Red Elephant Ears as requested, they couldn't produce an item number for the Red Elephant Ears they lead you to on their site. If I'd wanted Caladiums, I would have ordered more of those and not Elephant Ears.In short this company is misrepresenting their stock. They have placed a Elephant Ear tag at the end of their Caladium description, knowing full well it is NOT an actual Elephant Ear but hoping you will buy it bc its similar and if you wanted a red Elephant Ear you see their Caladium and are fooled bc of the name Elephant Ear in the DESCRIPTION and the picture. They even make it look as large as an Elephant Ear though Caladiums do not reach the same size. My husband built wooden planters to place them in. I invested in soil/fertilizer for ten 4ft by 3 ft planters. The company wanted me to dig them up and send them back. Why? Dead as door nails when they're dug up. So after all that work and energy I opted to see what transpired, knowing they won't be able to tolerate the hi sun area but hoping in spite of the falsehood about them being actual Red Elephant Ears they will emerge.I understand the competition is stiff these days. But resorting to falsely advertising that a plant IN THE FAMILY OF THE PLANT YOU ORDERED IS THE SAME AS THE PLANT ITSELF, IS A LIE . If I had the energy I would pursue this company's deliberate attempt to mislead the public. At minimal a better educated staff about plant and plant families would be desirable .So far 6 of the 10 bulbs are emerging. It wouldn't surprise me if the rest didn't come up but I'm hoping something will emerge that I can move to a spot I never intended them to be but where they at least have a chance to survive.

I saw many reviews stating that these plants never grew or didn’t start producing enough well I planted mine on June 5th (before photo) and the second (the after) photo was taken on July 5th. So there ya go, flourishing really good for me. I also wanted to say I removed about a half foot of the old soil and replaced it with some nutria rich soil and kept the soil moist watering it every two or three days but now that it’s the rainy season down here in Florida I don’t have to worry about the moisture that much. Just take care of the soil with a little fertilizer and keep it moist and your plants will grow.

I am impressed with the productivity of these bulbs. I am not certain but I believe each bulb produced a plant. And the plants are beautiful and thriving even in the excessive Texas heat. Worth the investment as they are already expanding in size and number.

Edit:Wow! I’ve never seen a caladium flower before! These bulbs were gorgeous all year, and have kept their bright colors through September here in zone 5b————————————I was hesitant to buy bulbs from Amazon, especially from a non-Prime seller. However, they worked out GREAT this summer! Each raised planter in front of my house has 5 bulbs. Some didn’t grow at first because I couldn’t tell which side was up on some of them and the evil squirrels kept digging through my planters and knocking the bulbs out or leaving them on top of the soil to dry out. After 20+ replantings they finally started to grow. I’m still getting new leaves every few days. They’re bright with more red than green, and keep their red color. They don’t fade (at least not yet) so I don’t have to deadhead them or do anything but water when the soil is dry. Once established they don’t seem to need much water either. Mine are in full sun for 6 hours and dappled sun the rest of the day.For companion plants, something low and vining like a sweet potato vine work well, as would something very tall. Lemongrass wasn’t tall enough. These plants get to roughly 18” high and 6 to 8 inches wide. They crowded out geraniums and a few other moderate height annuals I tried in the containers. Next year I’ll just stick to caladium, a few vines and short bright plants, maybe in a white color.I’m very happy with these bulbs. I hope they overwinter well in my garage and grow again next summer. If they come back, they are a great investment.
