Mounting studs are smaller and shorter than OEM. Lined up fine, but the studs are smaller and didn't come with nuts or washers. You can't reuse the original nuts because the studs are smaller. Was barely able to start threading, and after tightening as much as I dared without stripping the threads, the top of studs just barely reach through to the top of nut. But once mounted, it provided plenty of cranking power, and engaged smoothly. If you're going to use this starter I suggest using nylon lock nuts as there is not enough thread exposed to add lock washers. (Application: 20hp Kohler Courage Pro)

The starter has some heft to it, so it does not feel like some cheap, aftermarket item. Strong crank action. I hope it lasts as long as the OEM.

I was happy with this purchase. This easily replaced the starter on my Cub Cadet LT1045. Once I installed it, it, the mower starter on the second turn.
