I got several variations of this switch to see what was going to go on my project car. I really had high hopes because this version was the most compact of the 3 I tried. However in my chats with Grok about my particular setup, it recommended placing a switch on the positive terminial. Unfortunately this switch does not fit on the positive post of a normal car battery, because the hole is too small. So I ended up using this on the negative side. The main conductor portion you see looks like zinc plated pot metal, it does not look or feel like copper. Maybe there is copper on the inside somewhere. It doesn't feel heavy like a solid brass battery terminal we all used back in car audio days. The switch mechanism on all three variations I tried all feel the same. Installation is a breeze. I like that this battery switch can sit flush on the top of the battery. Note that the bottom does have an exposed, electrified screw head, but at least it's recessed to be flush. You should still cover the recessed screw head with something, because a short here would spell disaster in your car, given that there's no fuse. All in all, this is still my favorite of the three switches because of it's compact size. It worked fine even on car batteries with the raised wet cell vents. If I could change something about this, I'd make it out of higher quality materials and make the hole large enough to go on the positive terminal. (I suppose you could drill it out, but it's a tapered fit). I'd also mold in some on/off lettering to make it clear which way to turn it. It looks great because of it's compact size.

I purchased the WAMEIJU Car Battery Disconnect Switch (12V/24V) for my mower to prevent a parasitic power draw when it’s not in use. Priced affordably, it gets the job done but comes with notable drawbacks, earning it 3 out of 5 stars.Pros: The switch is dirt cheap, making it an economical alternative to costly repairs on my mower. It successfully disconnects the battery, stopping the power drain that was killing my battery during storage. Installation was straightforward, and it’s compatible with various vehicles like cars, RVs, and boats.Cons: The claim of “pure copper” construction is questionable—unless silver-colored copper exists, these parts don’t seem legit. The switch works, but you must carefully align it to the exact spot for a reliable connection, which feels finicky. Additionally, the on/off labels are only on a paper wrapper, which is impractical and likely to wear off quickly, leaving you guessing.Final Thoughts: The WAMEIJU switch is a budget-friendly fix for parasitic battery drain, and it’s served its purpose on my mower. However, the questionable materials, imprecise operation, and lack of durable labeling make it a compromise. It’s functional but not a top-tier choice.

4/16/2025 : This has helped a lot in troubleshooting ground loop isolation in my car audio. If I were to make further suggestions, it would be (a) have ON and OFF labelled in english. (B) clearly state the current rating in amps clearly on the website. I’m not sure if this is safe to drive with?4/13/2025 : This is the perfect size for a regular car battery. It fit the ‘01 and the ‘07 Corolla without issue, the factory negative clamped right on without needing to remove the rubber or anything. You can switch the two terminals, depending on your need, just be sure to screw it back properly so that the spring works well (make sure to test!). The car hood closes with it on. This is perfect for working in a car stereo, where you’ll be disconnecting and reconnecting the battery a few times (especially if you’re hunting down ground loop noise). The knob is a bit mushy, but it’ll get the job done, and it feels so great. I don’t know if I would leave it on a car permanently, it doesn’t exude that level of quality, and for that reason I’ll give it 4 stars. Would be nice to just set and forget. But, for my car stereo install, it is a life saver!
