I highly recommend watching YouTube videos or getting a friend to show you how.It's a sturdy tool and I've made some ok splices with it so far.

I bought this for splicing leaded poly crab pot line. The line is really stiff and tight, but using this did made the job easy. Worth the price paid on the first splice.
