Works well to add Android Auto to a 2019 Toyota Rav4. Make sure you forget/delete your phone from the Rav4 Bluetooth devices first.

The video that I was exposed to said I was able to stream my phone on Apple car play. This indeed failed.I have a 2022 challenger Scatpack& 2023 Hellcat Charger. It delayed for connection and did NOT mirror any video.

When Toyota took away all the features of their head unit we were left with nothing. Given the age of the car it pre-dated Toyota's inclusion of Android Auto, and we are decidedly not an apple household and arguably never will be. We took a chance on this because of reviews seem to mention it working well on other Toyota products, and we were not disappointed. THIS PRODUCT IS AMAZING. It completely transformed our head unit from an AM/FM radio after Toyota got through with it to a fully functioning and useful operations center. Being able to use Waze or Maps was game changing for us, as well as the other compatible apps like spotify. There are some negative reviews about its reliability/stability so I wanted to share my observations on our Sienna having used the product for half a year now. It does have its quirks, but when you had nothing to having all this capability 97% of the time, its totally worth the low cost.Things I notice when using this on our Sienna:* When the head unit starts, if you quickly press the continue button to dismiss the usage warning when the system starts in a hurry, the onboard Apply Carplay just doesn't initialize properly. I suspect it tries to initialize the USB sub system, sees a "carplay" device, but its not ready to connect to it at the head unit but tries anyway and it gets in a funky state. This results in carplay on the head unit being unavailable entirely. The only way to resolve I have found is to stop and start the car (aka restart the head unit). 99.9% of the time, if I simply wait for the warning screen to disappear on its own I have no issues* It seems like more often than not if you have a heavy electric load while you are starting the car which in turn initializes the head unit, it seems that a similar problem as described above will also happen (think opening/closing power sliding door(s) and/or liftgate while car is off). It doesn't happen consistently, but when I do have a problem it tends to be when one of the doors or tailgate is in motion. My suspicion is its too much current draw is impacting the initialization of carplay on the head unit + usb adapter which it needs to draw power off that usb cable.* I appreciate this is wireless, but you really can't keep your phone more than 6-8" away from the receiver. If I keep my phone in my pocket it struggles to connect, then the choppy audio and issues others have raised appear to surface. This is not a problem on a Sienna because there is the center console so when I put my phone down its only about 4 inches away from the receiver which is tucked into a cubby directly across. In this configuration I have 0 issues. Anything further away and it can get weird behavior that suggests data is stuttering across the bluetooth connectionAll things considered the device is not perfect, but it is an absolute Godsend for us and not only restored functionality Toyota took away from us out of the blue, but blew it away for a very minimal cost. My only concern is updates to Android Auto breaking this integration over time, if it meant I had to buy a new device with each update if I had to I would totally do it. YMMV but for us it transformed our head unit entirely it is far superior to what Toyota was even originally offering and I am so incredibly thankful I stumbled onto this device and rave about it to anyone in the same boat I was in.

The setup process was very straight forward but after connection I had a black display screen. I have a carplay only Nissan Maxima and I connected to Android Auto. I can tell that the device is connected to the car but the display is black. I tried to get assistance from the manufacturer as is recommended in the manual but to no avail. They actually replied to my first email inquiring about the issue but did not reply to any subsequent ones. I think their reluctance to assist was because I bought the device through Amazon and not directly from them. Very disappointed in the product and manufacturer.

Love this! After Toyota’s “update” (or downgrade) in fall 2023 of my 2020 Corolla on board features, my car’s screen was reduced to only a radio and rear view camera. And, learning that it did have Apple CarPlay, was no help since I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 that I love, and I really didn’t want to have to spend hundreds of dollars to switch to an iPhone that I didn’t like, just to be able to use features on my car screen I really wanted, like navigation. Then, I found a YouTube video of this adapter and, with fingers crossed, immediately ordered it! On arrival I set it up in my car, easy setup, and…..Tah-Daa!! I now have maps on my car screen, phone calls, voice texts, audiobooks, and more!! I am so happy with this product and it was worth every penny! Thank you CarlinKit 4.0!

This was my 2nd purchase. After using I could no longer disconnect phone calls from phone button on steering wheel. Today any phone calls made or received the other party said voice is garbled and scratchy. Once I connected the USB from phone to car, the issues were resolved. Several times it wouldn't automatically connect and I had to unplug and plug again to usb port. Very disappointed.

The Carlinkit 4.0 CP2A was easy to install and get operational. No complicated settings or entries to get it working. The product just plugs into the data USB port of your car, then you find your car under the phones Bluetooth setup section. Once paired with the car your phone will connect via WiFi with the Carlinkit adapter. (A light on the adapter will turn Blue/Green when the phone is connected) There are however, a couple of caveats to check/do first.1) Ensure Apple CarPlay is enabled on your car. There was an option to turn it off or on in the settings of my 2019 Toyota and mine was set to off.2) If your phone is already paired with your car you should remove that pairing or the Carlinkit 4.0 CP2A may not connect to the car, it also may ask for a password. I did not remove my previous pairing, but the product installed and connected twice before it tripped up on the wrong pairing and kept asking me for a password for that other pairing. Phone, audio, maps & more is all done under the Carlinkit 4.0 pairing so any other pairing with the car be removed. It took me a couple of hours to become familiar with the Apple CarPlay menu system but I like the functionality of it now. I have only used it four times since installation so I will follow-up with how well it works overtime.
