This has greatly helped reduce litter on our floors.

I intended to remove the cover to properly clean the tray (because I have dogs who pee on everything), but it won't come off. I was only able to detach the corner bracket, and that was a mistake because I had to use such force on this strong plastic that I nearly tore the tips and nails off two fingers, as well as nearly slicing them open if it had been sharp, causing very painful blood bruises that feel like when I smashed my finger in the door of a 1986 Chevy Silverado. Now, will have to hose this off instead or wash it in the tub as it is 2 degrees outside, and then wait for it to air dry!

It definitely catches litter well if you have some kickers. I'm not sure how well it compares to a cat stepping on the mats that have textured/woven surfaces. Those that seem to rub their paws to 'grab' the litter. But what I hate about those textured rugs is how the litter gets so stuck in the crevices. Just out in my backyard trying to shake out as much as i can and I can never get it all. So at this moment I am using both (lol i know). I placed the plastic one on top of the woven one that I already have there. It's nice and wide so it covers the mat well. So now I have the plastic one catching the majority of the litter, with the woven one to get some remaining bits. The plastic one is so easy to clean. I love the little side spout to easily pour the trapped litter out that I can do it one handed. Although I still use a woven mat with it, I would still recommend it.

Once the cats were used to it being there it really cut down on the amount of litter that gets tracked around. Works great.

Good quality. But my cats don’t like walking on it yet. They jump over it so it doesn’t work as it should yet.

I received a litter mat similar to this with one of my auto litter box and it has definitely become one of my favorite types of litter catching mat! It looks great and I feel the vertical space does a really good job of letting the litter work its way down immediately and therefore catches more than the other more "flat" ones that are common. Being plastic it is really easy to clean and have look new again unlike the once again more flat ones that can still look dirty after a scrub.

I hadn't tried this type of litter mat before and wanted to give it a try since litter on the floor is a constant when you have cats. This works decently well at trapping litter. The litter I use (tidy cats) fits easily in between the slats. While the photo shows wood pellets working too, the holes are too small for those, so if you use wood pellets, this won't work for you. It catches about the same amount of litter as my silicone mats, but it keeps it trapped much better. It is also easy to tip out the litter back into the box. So far it has been easy to clean, and it seems sturdy enough that it will last a while.

I really wanted to love this litter trapping mat but there are a few things that I don't like. This is really a 3.5-star product. First and foremost, it is nearly impossible to remove the 8 clips that snap the 2 panels together. It is like Fort Knox of a mat. I actually broke a couple of nails trying to do it. I clean out and wash down the litter box once a week and this trapping mat makes it so difficult to do that. The only way for me to really clean out this trapping mat is to take it outside into the yard and blast the heck out of it with the garden hose. The 2nd thing I don't like about this mat is that it's small and the shape is really meant for a side entry little box where it's not in the line of flying pellets. I have a simple front entry litterbox that I fill with pine pellets. My Maine Coon kitty tends to drag pieces of the wood shavings that gets trap between her toes out onto the floor. This trapping mat does a decent job at catching slivers of wood shaving but quite a few still get away because the mat is too short. I still have to have the silicone mat underneath to catch the flying pellets when she digs. Perhaps this is a mat better suited for clay, charcoal or crystals but not great for pellets. Overall, this is a great idea for a trapping mat, but the execution is nowhere near perfect, at least not for my needs. This product is made China.
