Getting a block of cheese is always cheaper than buying precut slices. THe slices get dry faster and lose some flavor. This cutter can cut clean even slices from your cheese block. These are very convenient to use. The money saved will pay for the cutter in no time and you will enjoy the flavor of fresh cut cheese slices.

Great slicer. I have been wanting a cheese slicer for a while, but didn't know what to get. Saw this and decided to give it a try. Very well built and cuts the cheese very easily. Depending on the cheese can be a bit tricky to clean, but that is to be expected. Cheese is always like that.

I have used the HUNIGIR Cheese Slicer Board for almost a week. The blade is very sharp and can be dangerous if you are not paying attention. When you try to clean it or move it around, there is no safety cover for the blade. It is easy to grab the slicer and cut yourself by mistake. The knife works well for soft cheese and it is easy to use. Please be careful.

There's no question but that this slicer can make sharp cuts to blocks of cheese you'd buy anywhere. The blade is sharp, it is easy to use and the grid marks on the platform (its cutting surface) make it easy to maintain a 90° angle to the blade when you position the cheese block.Blades always get gradually more dull over time, though. It may well be that – for this blade – that would be a long time, but it will get dull eventually. There seems to be no easy way to sharpen this yourself. If the device used a stretched, thin metal wire to cut instead of the blade I suspect that this potential development would be less likely, but I should say that I cannot prove this in advance. So this cutter can definitely do what it says well, and probably for a good while – but who knows for how long?

I chose this cheese cutter because it was stainless steel and stainless steel is easy to clean. It did not come with any instructions let alone how to clean it, but the description on the page says it's "Product Care Instructions Hand Wash Only, Dishwasher Safe". This is a contradiction. It should say, in my opinion, "It is hand washable and dishwasher safe". I like things spelled out, not left to someone's imagination. The cutter is not a solid rectangular stainless steel slab, it is a thin sheet of stainless steel that has been bent and shaped into this cutter.Unlike other cutters that use a piece of replaceable wire to cut the cheese with this is a saw shape blade and no instructions on how to replace it. In fact the description says "The Cutting blade is sharper and more durable for slicing, eliminating the hassle of changing and installing wires." But like all knives and other cutting blades, eventually the blade will dull. We can only assume we can sharpen the blade as there are no instructions that says anything otherwise. It comes with a tweezer, a "stainless steel cheese tweezer to make it easier to hold the cheese cubes" as it says in the description, however the tweezer is hard to squeeze together. It would be hard to hold it for very long. It is ok to work with it when cutting the cheese but I would not put it out on a buffet table for parties as it is too hard, at least for me it is, it may not be for those with strong wrists.I personally find the thin sheet designed cutter a bit too light in weight. But that is my preference.

I've wanted a cheese slicer for quite a while. I'm used to the ones that use a wire to do the cutting. This one has a blade. I think it's a bit too thick. It took some practice to get the slices thin and even, but it can be done! I used it to slice Colby Jack cheese at room temperature and refrigerated. Cutting room temperature cheese was easier. You really have to hold the colder cheese in place so the blade doesn't push the cheese away from the blade. I tried cutting butter but that didn't work at all. Butter is too slippery. Two annoyances: 1. after making a cut, there is a small strip that drops to the countertop and (2) the blade can move back and forth somewhat so that sometimes it hits the edge of the surface you place the cheese on. I think I would prefer the wire type cutter.

I tested it on a block of cheddar cheese that I got at a wholesale club. They are probably 2.5 to 3" thick. There was so much drag, it pushed the cheese back as it went through even though I had a firm hold on it, and it didn't cut through that easily. I tried a block of cheddar from the supermarket that is maybe 1 to 1.5" thick, and it did a better job, with less effort, thought the slices weren't exaclty even. 95% of the time, I buy the wholesale club cheese, so I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of this. Any other cheese, I buy pre-sliced or I shred it. It has a 1/4"(ish) thickblade and I think a taut wire would have been a lot more efficient. 3 stars for functionality, 4 for ease of cleaning, and 5 stars for storage (lies mostly flat and not really big).

This cheese cutter is top notch. We've used it several times for get together's and the blade is amazingly sharp, and easy to cut with. The base is really good quality stainless steel and cleans up easily. Excellent money to Value ratio.
