I followed directions exactly but after 8 weeks the pod never sprouted. The basil right next to it grew fantastically, but I feel cheated on these strawberry.

50% germination rate is very poor considering the cost of each insert!

So far, so good. The pods had seeds, which had been mentioned as a problem in other reviews. The seeds sprouted in about a week and are growing well. I’m not sure what a mini tomato will be or how they will taste, but I’m excited to see them. The picture was taken at about 2 weeks.

Well it grew fine and just seeing some tomatoes but the plant has started toppling over so not sure it'll last until they ripen. I personally just like having the greenery so if any actually become edible that'll be a bonus.

Purchased mid May, this is now early Sept. So this is the results after 3.5 months. Things we noted...1- Sprouted in a matter of days. Actual Tomatoes took about two to two and a half months. Still producing though.2- Rotate them throughout the holes for even light distribution. (Basically change which pod hole every few days.)3- When about 6 in tall max, transplant them. We transplanted the two pods we grew into a single 5 gal bucket. They are growing nicely together.4- Tastes great according to husband/10yr old. ( I am deathly allergic to tomatoes.)Overall we love the system. I purchased two of the 3 pod systems on another online resale retailer that starts with an E for under 50 each. One had the actual plastic cartridges, one didn't. So it was great to find that the refill CARTRIDGE actually is one pod with the plastic part. The ones that are 3 packs do not have the plastic part.We will purchase the refills again in the spring and continue doing this. It is a great way to have fresh items in the desert. I also reviewed the chili pepper/basic refill and Rosemary 3 pack with photos.

My wife got a big kick out of how easy it was to setup. But only 2 of the pods sprouted. The remaining 2 have grown and flowered. We noticed that one plant has started to make a couple of tomatoes. Just disappointed that the third plant didn’t come up. She replaced with a basil plant that has already catching up to the tomatoes size.
