About this item

  • Fully coated front and back
  • Double threaded ring to allow for mounting another accessory like a lens hood
  • Inexpensive filter to keep your lens clean and protected

Here is a new UV Haze 1 filter for your Canon Canonet GIII QL and GIII QL 17, Canonet Jr., Canonet 28 and probably many more. This is a high quality glass filter, coated on both sides or "double coated" as it is commonly referred to, made by Telesor. The filter is brand new, never used, and threaded on both sides. Many of the earlier Canon cameras use 48mm filters. The GIII are still very popular cameras and widely used by amateurs and professionals alike. Most of the FL lenses and the EX lenses use 48mm filters. This is a great filter to use for landscapes and for people. Most people keep a UV filter on their lenses at all times for protection and to reduce haze in their photos.

I can't speak for the optical quality of the filter as I'm not using it on a camera. I purchased it to remove the glass and use the filter ring for something else. The filter glass appeared to be streaked or hazy like it needed to be cleaned when it arrived, and the ring itself is plastic and fairly flexible. Not a very quality product, but it is the cheapest 48mm filter out there so you get what you pay for I guess.

Like the other reviewer, my filter arrived with streaks on the glass. These were easily cleaned with lens tissue. The big problem was that the ring was truly made of soft-ish plastic. I have never seen a filter that didn't have a metal ring. The plastic makes it tricky to thread onto the metal lens. Also, one tiny bump of the lens cap (not even the actual ring!) and the glass of the filter fell out of the ring. In all, it lasted me less than a day.
