These charcoal pads seem to help cut down on the odor in the kitchen trash bin. I think I may also try placing these near the cats litter boxes to help control the odors there too.

I've recently started composting and I have a 1 1/2- gallon bin on my kitchen counter to collect food scraps. I usually let the bin fill up before I take it to the outdoor composter, so it's important that my kitchen doesn't smell like week old banana peels. The Rainflow Compost Bin Charcoal Filters fit perfectly into the lid of my bin without trimming them and they allow air to circulate into the bin without letting the food odors out. The 10 pack of activated charcoal filters are 6 1/2" in diameter. Each filter should last 2-3 month.I'm very pleased with how well the filters work. They are a terrific value and, in my kitchen, they are invaluable.

These charcoal filters work fine in my countertop compost bin. They are thinner than the original which I thought might be a problem, but I haven't noticed any difference.

They fit our compost can well, no complaints or issues so far!Not much to say about these, other than they seem to work well so far & fit our compost can lid well.We regularly empty compost anyway, so smell usually isn't a huge problem, so it's hard to say how successful these are at absorbing odors, nor how long they'd last.Would definitely recommend & would definitely purchase again.

A while ago, I picked up a few bins to hold kitchen scraps for composting and these look like they're the same size and will work. These are vacuum sealed which helps keep the activated carbon active, because it blocks air intake that would otherwise be filtered by the filters, thus using it up. The seal shrinks the discs though, and makes it very thin.It regains some of its height once the seal is removed, but doesn't quite match the width of the original that I had. It seems to still work and be mostly functional though. If I notice any issues, I may end up double-stacking them to make up the difference in thickness and fill the filter compartment. So far seems to work very well for filtering out the odors from my kitchen scraps.

I didn't realize you needed to change these filters out every 3-6 months! I had noticed the compost bin was getting more fragrant so I decided to try these out and I gotta say, it's just like the original, it's the same size and fit. And it has eliminated that fragrance! So very happy with these filters.

These are great! They are versatile ! I use them just to place around my house :) examples … in the closet , behind cat litter , bathroom , etc . I just think charcoal filters are great and clear the air ! Def worth the buy.

For anyone wondering if these make a difference, they most certainly do! I've lifted the lid of my compost after collecting for a week only to bit hit with a pungent hit of composting onion. When the lid is closed and these filters in the top though? Not a whiff as I walk through the kitchen. If anything, their only flaw might be working too well so I'm less motivated to regularly take out the compost...
