These appear to be a perfect replacement for our Compost Genie composter. As you can see from the picture, there are slightly different colors, but otherwise exactly the same size. They also seem to hold the same amount of activated charcoal so I would expect they will do the same job deodorizing. Would recommend. Good value.

My compost bin can get rather stinky under my sink. I was hoping these would help. However, each filter is rather small. For the cost it doesn't pencil out to put the filter in WITH the compost, so I put it UNDER the biodegradable bag that lines my compost bucket. I really haven't noticed any difference. I made sure the bucket was super clean before I added the filter. It may need to go in with the actual garbage. But if that is the case, then I'd be tossing it away every time I empty the trash. That doesn't make sense. Now writing this, I'm wondering if there are some compost buckets that have a filter holder on the lid of the bucket. Mine doesn't have that But I really don't think the filter would do much.

I make crocheted blankets and when I store them I like to put these in with them after washing/blocking so no weird smells or anything. For about $1 a piece, they are a nice size and I like they don't have printing on them. Just be sure you don't give them in a gift to young children. I haven't tried them in compost bins or garbage cans as their intended use but I'm sure they do a good job in there as well.

I laughed when I saw the filter included with the Genie. But, while the lid is closed, it actually seems to work. Obviously when you open the lid the stink escapes. These work as well as the original. Now what they need is a fruit fly filter!

We got this set of 12 small carbon filters to use with our compost set - they are supposed to soak up odors. These are compatible with the floor Kitchen Compost Bin by Genie. These 12 filters are individually wrapped and measure about 3" X 2.5"...about the size and shape of a tea bag. They do fit into the formed slot underneath the lid of the Genie. The 12 filters should last you a few months.

When comparing the Compost Genie filters to the PurifyLogix, what is most noticeable is that these have a fine mesh-like outer layer and feel fuller than the brand name filters. Both types come in individually sealed packages, keeping them effective until needed, and they help to deodorize the bins. The most notable difference is cost; the brand name comes in packages of four for $6 and these are a little over $1 each. Overall, a good buy.

I actually bought these for a family friend, we bought an automated litter box which came with two sachets of charcoal to reduce odor but could not find replacements. These are a little smaller but still good enough and works almost as well.

I used these filters in my compost bin, and they completely eliminated any bad smells. They fit perfectly and last a long time.
