A friend of mine (from China) taught me how to make homemade Dim Sum. They were so delicious! I have trouble with pinching the tops of the dumplings closed and making them look as nice as she does. This is a great way to level the playing field! Now, all I have to do is make my dough and my filling and this wonderful mold will assist me with the dumpling shaping process. And it goes so fast too. The mold is small so your Dim Sum will be small. (But that's ok.) Then just steam & then fry. I recently ordered and received this great bamboo 2 level steamer from Amazon. I made some steamed buns with this and the design is cute, however, cooking the buns caused the design to disappear from them as they expanded. The quality of the molds is good, they are easy to clean and they work great. The size is good and I find it is pretty easy to get the dough to come out so long as I put some flour in the molds. These bun molds work great and are much easier to use than the old mold since these are made of plastic and are much easier to clean, take up less space, and are easier to use than the wooden mold I was using previously.
