I accidentally broke my grandmother's ceramic container at work. I didn't know it belonged to my grandmother, so I knew I had to find another to replace it. Once I found it, I was elated like no tomorrow. Plus, for the lid it came with.

Had two, broke one and immediately wanted to replace it. Very versatile, stacks well in frig, do not recommend microwaving the lid,it doesn't fit properly after.

I love this dish! There are only 2 of us. We love main-dish casseroles but most recipes are for a 13"x9" casserole dish which is way too much for us (and we don't like left-overs). So I make up the casserole based upon the recipe but divide it into 3 of these 1.5 qt casseroles, freezing 2 of them with the plastic lids on, and cooking 1 for dinner that day. Works out great for us! We have 2 dinners already made for another week. Just defrost, cook, and eat.

We bought 2 to make lartge amounts of custard in. We love them, they function well. But 1 of the lids came badly dented on the edge and is weak there now. This will affect how long the lid lasts, so we took off one star. But we love them and recommend them overall. We double the custard recipe, then we put each one in a large glass lasagna dish so they can be standing in water and bake them (2 at a time/6 eggs). We stir once about 30 minutes in to keep them from boiling, then cook for 15 more minutes. we use a thermometer in several places... but they are always very done.if we mess up and they boil, we freeze them and then blend them for a tasty frosty shake.Sometimes we even use 4x the recipe and keep a few in the fridge a day before baking them as well. We use them for protein drinks, and use splenda instead of the sugar. Yum!When my daughter couldn't eat meat because of protein restrictions (and a health induced meat aversion - she just could not bring herself to eat meat for a while) these had enough protein to satisfy but not too much for her medical diet. It was really lucky we remembered grandma's custard and found these dishes. We would give them 4.6 stars if we could!

I needed a second serving dish to match my decades-old one, and this one does the trick. Same CorningWare quality as the first one, which is still in service after 20-odd years.I had ordered the version with the plastic storage lid, as not only is the glass-lidded version more expensive, I didn't feel it would be as useful. I received the one with the glass lid anyway. After re-checking my order to see if I had made the mistake instead of the packer (I hadn't), I decided to stay with what I had ... the glass lid fits well, goes into the oven if needed, and I can use the plastic lid from the first one if required for the fridge. Back when I first bought this, the set came with both lids - guess times change!
