As someone with post surgical Keratoconus from lasik this thing is honestly a life changer.I’ve seen the 300$ system but never thought it would be worth it and then I found this and I’ve used it for a week now. I mean it when I say it’s changed my daily life.I used to use a light up makeup mirror then place the regular lense holder over the light. This has drastically decreased the clutter on my countertop and makes lenses insertion so much faster. PLEASE get one of these if you’ve ever considered the 300$ system. For 30$ this is the best value for your money! The yellow light in the pictures shows up very washed out but in person it’s a lot deeper yellow hue, and doesn’t hurt to look at in any way.The only downsides that I could think of are that it takes AAA batteries rather than a rechargeable battery, and the black surface mages it a little difficult to find the placement markers for my scleral lenses.I don’t know what the battery life is considering I’ve only had it for a week now, but it shouldn’t be much of an issue considering you can just replace the batteries. This is one of the only products I’ve ever reviewed and it’s because it’s drastically changed my day to day life for such an amazing price.

Love the concept here....anything to make putting contacts in easier would be awesome! Now if I could only get it to work! The problem may very well be with me though and not. The product....it doesn't come with any instructions so maybe I'm doing something wrong? Not sure....

This product is very difficult to use for me. The light actually blocks the area where I want to insert my lens. I am returning it. Very sorry as it sounded great in the advertisement.

I accidentally ordered this for my daughter’s soft contact lenses, which she often struggles to put on.Although this tool is designed for scleral or RGP lenses, the main issue is the base: the soft tube that’s supposed to connect to it doesn’t fit at all. The hole in the base is too small, and no matter how much I tried, I couldn’t insert the tube properly.Even if I had the correct type of lenses, I’m not sure this would work as intended. The concept is smart, but as it stands, it’s just not functional.

For home use, I have a mirror that lights around the edge, but I needed something portable to carry in my purse, or take on trips, and this is perfect. I popped in 3 AAA batteries, peeled off the protective plastic, inserted the tube into the base and turned it on - perfect! This lights so well, I may end up using it at home also.I plan to show this to my eye doctor's office, and suggest they present it as an option to their new scleral lens patients. The only improvement I might suggest is if it could have been USB rechargeable - I don't know how long the batteries will last, but hopefully it will be a long time as it won't be turned on too long at each use.

I have great difficulty inserting my scleral lens every day, and I had to rig up a contraption to help me. (Clear plastic bowl with flashlight inside, sit plastic tube on top of bowl, insert rubber tip into tube, fill lens with saline, bend over, pray). This does the same thing, but better, and it is more stable and has a smaller footprint for travel. I highly recommend it. The only question I have is how long the batteries (3 AAA) will last. I think the description of the item should specify what type of batteries the unit takes.

My eye doctor recommended it—and it exceeded even their hype!
