2011 Audi A4 Avant (B8 Wagon, not Allroad) InstallationI wanted to share here that I installed the Curt 11186 hitch on my Audi wagon with no deviations from the instructions needed. I think there may be confusion out there whether this hitch only works on the A4 b8 sedan or if it will also work on the Avant (wagon). As far as I can tell there are no differences between the wagon and sedan in the area's accessed for the install. My guess is that the hitch does not fit the Allroad, which is also a wagon but may have additional obstructions in the rear area that prohibit the installation of the low-profile/hidden style hitch. I plan to notify Curt customer support as well. I hope this info helps someone. The curt hitch is sweet, well made, stout, nice finish, quality hardware and nicely hidden.Notes on my install:- I did not need to jack the car to access- I only made two cuts the fascia to make access for the receiver portion and just folded the cut flap inward- I used tape over the top bolt heads to help hold them in place while trying to start the nuts as others have suggested, but Im not sure it would have been necessary.- Install took me ~ 1hr going at a measured pace.Quality product, easy install, all in all I'm super pleased.

Hitch fit good but box was destroyed and came with the wrong hardware. I had to shorten the brackets it came with and drill my own holes. Other than that it’s great

Did not fit on my 2012 Audi A4. I had to use about 8 additional washers to make it work.

I needed a hitch for my bike rack, and this fit my 2016 Audi S4 perfectly, just took a small bit of trimming of the grey plastic on the bottom side of the bumper. This is a solid hitch made out of all 1/2" steel and they included grade 8 hardware to my surprise. Took about 30 minutes to install. Use a 13mm socket on an extension to remove both muffler hangers which will allow you to get the hitch up into position and get the top flat bracket on top of the frame rail. You need a 19mm socket for the nuts and they get torqued to 110 ft lbs.

Got it for my A4. Was able to install it myself, but not easy. Seems very rugged and rust resistant. Hitch is a bit low for my use.

I brought it to put bike rack on my Audi A4I was skeptical if I can install it by my self..well it took about 1.5 hrs and it was easy. Solid build, easy installation and instructions

Every Curt receiver hitch I have purchased has installed flawlessly and exactly as shown in the instructions and this one was no different. Only a small modification to an unseen part of the bumper cover was required. The hardware quality is great and the instructions are always very descriptive. Out of the three Curts I have had I have never had a problem or failure.

I just bought a brand new A4 2014. Needless to say I wanted to do a perfect install.This took me about 2 hours by myself in my garage. I took my time and the unit looks great. I am using it for a bicycle carrier and it works like a charm.Getting the bolts and and torqued to the rails without damaging the fascia is a PIA. You need a full complement of 1/2" wrenches deep and regular depth with swivel adapters to get to every single bolt. Doing it yourself requires a significant amount of strength and coordination..having a second pair of hands will definitely cut the time by at least half. Having a lfit will also reduce the time significantly.The unit is totally unobtrusive and even my car geek friend complemented my on how well it looks.
