This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). This hitch kit fit perfectly in a 9th gen (2012-2015) Civic 4 door sedan. No issues on the installation, very easy to install, only took about 30 minutes to put in and the instructions are very clear. Curt always makes great quality towing accessories. Works perfectly, looks great, definitely worth it! Highly recommend! Happy towing!

I bought this to have a bike rack to haul some electric bikes and it does the job well. Its a little time consuming job but if you know what you're doing its no problem. Great buy 👍🏼

I chose this particular hitch since it took utilized two bolts on each side to attach this to the frame (all the others I saw on Amazon for my car appeared to only have one bolt on each side. For the most part installation was not difficult. I found it wasn't necessary to remove the rubber mounting for the muffler to make room. Instead of disconnecting the rubber mount (a little difficult), I just had the rear lifted up and maneuvered the hitch into where it was needed. Trimming of the heat shield was necessary (and indicated in the instructions) because the heat shield would otherwise block the bolts and where you need to feed them through the frame. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

I set to work installing this hitch on my 2012 civic after going through the video several times. There is also an instruction sheet in the package that cleared several points of doubt in my mind, ie, which screw or bold will go where, and it helped me greatly. The hardest part for me was working with the car's exhaust. Getting it off was relatively easy, but the rubber that held the exhaust's prongs was very tight and it needed quite a bit of muscle power to pry them off (I used the WD40 lubricant too)What was not clear to me from the video or the instructions, is what is meant by "lifting the hitch and the exhaust simultaneously". I found this out the harder way, when I finished tightening the hitch (I had to take great care not to get my hand slip into the jagged heat shield, which would have been a bloody affair with grease thrown in). Gloves would have helped, as did my eye protection, when a bolt fell down on it (yes, I was lying down below the car as I didn't have a way to elevate it)So after tightening the hitch with all my might as said above, I find that the piece of rubber that held the exhaust is caught between the hitch and the muffler and it was also quite inaccessible. I gave up and continued the work only next day. The rework involved loosening the hitch again, then use screw-driver and fingers (all the fingertip pushups I had done in my life must have helped) to yank the rubber over the prongs and push them through, but it was done at last, and I tightened the hitch screws for the second time taking care of that dreaded heat shield jagged edge

Great price and quality. The Curt Class 1 hitch for my 2012 Honda Civic was a perfect fit. The hitch is extremely well made and has a high-gloss black powder coat finish. It came with all of the fasteners and instructions. One person can install it, but it's easier with two. The only modification was to the heat shield on the muffler. That information was included with the instructions. The way it's designed hides most of the hitch under the car. You'll need a tool from the auto parts store to remove the rubber shock mount for the muffler. The installation took 40 minutes. I recommend buying a Curt hitch from this seller. It arrived when promised with no damage.
