This is a totally snug identical replacement for the broken unit--Seems to be made of very tough nylon or similar.I was interested in how the original plastic snapped as it did not seem particularly brittle and wondered if it could happen again.I think the sewing machine got 'dropped' on this bobbin winder or something heavy hit it.I woudl NOT expect this replacement to fail in NORMAL use : )but will not try that experiment!
