About this item

  • 13A DC Motor Driver

MD10C is a newer version of the MD10B which is designed to drive high current brushed DC motor up to 10A 13A continuously. It offers several enhancements over the MD10B such as support for both locked-antiphase and sign-magnitude PWM signal as well as using full solid state components which result in faster response time and eliminate the wear and tear of the mechanical relay.
**Note that it is not for "RC PWM"
Features:

  • Bi-directional control for 1 brushed DC motor.
  • Support motor voltage ranges from 3V 5V to 25V 30V
  • Maximum current up to 10A 13A continuous and 15A 30A peak (10 seconds).
  • 3.3V and 5V logic level input.
  • Solid state components provide faster response time and eliminate the wear and tear of mechanical relay.
  • Fully NMOS H-Bridge for better efficiency and no heat sink is required.
  • Speed control PWM frequency up to 10KHz 20KHz (Actual output frequency is same as input frequency).
  • Support both locked-antiphase and sign-magnitude PWM operation.
  • The new MD10C can be powered from a single power source and external Vin is not required.
  • Dimensions: 75mm x 43mm

Very compact, nicely laid out Motor Control board. Very easy to use. I ran a DC motor off a motorcycle battery with absolutely no issues. Stays cool. Has 2 convenient buttons on the PCB for manually testing motor either Fwd/Rev direction without code. I'm going to have to check out other control boards from Cytron. Speed control requires you write some value to any designated Arduino PWM pin....EX: ~ D3, ~ D5, ~ D6, etc.const int pwm_pin = 3; // pin D3 = variable for speed output to motorpwm_value = 0; // enter any value 0-255....zero will turn OFF pulse trainanalogWrite( pwm_pin, pwm_value); // send that value to pwm_pin and motor stops

This is exactly what you will need to control large DC motors for robotic projects. Three pins control the outputs (Dir, PWM, and ground). Then all that is needed is the appropriate power supply for the motors you are using and the motors. DroneBot workshop has a very good Arduino built to get you started with these. These are, an excellent value for the money.

I was having a lot of trouble driving a larger motor with a L298 type H-Bridge. I switched to this board and everything started working perfectly. Also was more efficient. I am very happy with the performance of this board driving a large gear motor.

Great for makers and hobbyists. Specs good enough to handle most anything I'm going to deal with. Interface simple but very effective.
