Mine were slightly proud of 3/4". But I still got them to work after grinding them a little (didn't want to drill the holes in the bench larger, because then my other bench dogs would be sloppy).

I needed bench dogs that fit 3/4" holes and don't stick up past about 1/2" above the table so I can hold work pieces I'm planing or sanding. These feel well-made and fit the holes snug without being too tight.

These low profile bench dogs fit perfectly in the 3/4" holes in my workbench top. Use them almost every day in conjunction with the Daydoor bench dog clamps. Highly recommend.

Like the headline says, these worked great in my festool MFT worktable, excellent fit and finish.Having the flat side make it nice to not worry about them rolling all over the surface but also giving a solid surface to apply pressure against, I've had both types (full round, and ones with a flat side) I prefer the ones like this with the flat side.

I bought a set of four of a certain brand's blue bench dogs a while back and often found the head to be too tall and would interfere when I was planning thinner stock. These will be my new go-to dogs. First, they are solid. They don't feel hollow or some faux material; these are steel. They don't move in the 3/4" hole in my bench when I'm planning or chiseling. They are compact. The measurements on the Amazon page are consistent with my measurements, plus the head is 8mm (5/16") tall - much shorter than my other (blue, plastic) dogs so I can use them with stock probably even thinner than the 1/2" I ran into issues with previously. The machining is a little rough around the edges but nothing that is going to impact a workpiece or cause any other issues. For the current price of $13? Get two sets!!

So I have a workbench and an assortment of bench dogs in plastic and wood for it. They all work good and are great for not marring up my work pieces. But STAINLESS STEEL....cummon .... any guy can read where I'm coming from here right? They are shiny and silver on the black melamine top of my workbench....awesome. They are right at 3/4" diameter so should fit your already made holes. If you don't have holes in your bench and want to put some so that you can use these....just use a 3/4" Forstner bit and make ya some. The bench dogs themselves are smooth and burr free with the standard flat face on one "side?" They insert and remove smoothly from my existing holes and hold the material in place just fine and did I mention that they are STAINLESS STEEL and LOOK COOL? Anyway, go get ya some .... you won't regret it. I'm gonna get me some more.....just because.
