I'm impressed by this vise. Swivels smooth, locks up the axis securely, and the jaws hold like you would expect. The added bonus of having a flat "anvil" on the tail is fantastic. No it's not perfect, but for the price you're getting a ton of functionality and even a set of hard plastic jaw plates to swap out the steel ones so you can clamp items you don't want to damage. I do a lot of engraving and jewelry work and this little guy just made my life exponentially easier. It also has plastic sleeves that go on the connection point between the vise and the table you are securing it to. Again for the price you're getting more than you're paying for in my opinion. I'm going to use it primarily for copper wire jewelry making and engraving knives. I would buy this at retail cost and be satisfied.

I got this for my garage work bench. I have another small vice about the same size on a work bench in the basement that cost more and has fewer features, thus my 'value plus' heading. Being able to swivel the vice as needed is a great plus. The locking lever for the swivel works well, which is to say it's not hard to lock down or unlock and yet it holds firm.If you want to protect the surface of the material you're working on, it comes with a pair of "boots" that fit over the metal jaws. If you work with material you need to protect often, it also comes with a pair of pads you can use to switch out the metal ones that come attached. There are also pegs you can insert into the protective pads to hold roundish objects or can even be used to bend light tubing or small metal rods.It also comes with pads to protect the surface of the base that you clamp the vice to, so you're covered there, too. There is also a circular pad on the back of the vice where you can use a hammer to flatten or break apart material. I would only use that with the jaws closed rather than to risk damaging the screw rod that opens and closes the vice. Both screw mechanisms work easily. This isn't a heavy duty vice by any means, but if you need a small vice (that's even portable) there's not much to dislike about this one.

I was looking for a small bench vise to use for my model building hobby. The dynamic jaw moves to the rear of the vise when the screw is turned, like an old dovetail machinist vise which is a nice feature. This vise was just the right size (3" jaws) for what I was looking for but it has a few flaws that are hard to overlook.First the good: Heavy and well made for its size, it shouldn't move around while I'm working with it. The included soft jaw covers should help keep my parts from being scuffed or scarred by the steel jaws. The overall design is nice with a small flat anvil surface on the back and the dynamic jaw moves smoothly and freely when the screw is rotated. The not so good: The paint is chipping and sharp in a few places where the edges are not cleaned up. There are a lot of sharp or rough edges that should have been smoothed out by the factory like around the jaws and around the anvil surface. I wish it came with a surface mounting plate so you don't have to use the clamp if you don't want to. It is pictured without the table clamp in some of the product pictures. The Bad: The included screws to attach the soft jaws are too short and the holes do not line up with the tapped holes in the vise jaws. I will have to either mill these included jaws or make a new set to use. I have some extra hardware that I can search through to see if I have some longer screws but I shouldn't have to do that. Conclusion: Its an okay vise that needs some adjustments and filing to make it a good vise. If it had a few extra features it could be a great vise.

I received this item as part of the Amazon Vine program. The opinions given here are entirely my own, without influence from anyone else. This is a great little vice. Perfect for smaller projects that don't require a full sized vice. The adjustment mechanisms move smoothly without catches or spots that stick. The included rubber pads provide a softer grip for more delicate items. There is even a set of curved grips for tubing or curved items - a handy feature that makes the vice more versatileThis is a five-star product for anyone who needs to hold smaller parts. It is a much lighter and more mobile vice than a full size table-mounted one. If you are a DIYer or have a hobby that needs you to hold smaller items while you work on them, this is a must-have device.

This is about "Table Vise, 3" Bench Vise Universal Rotate 360° Work Clamp-On Vise, Table Vice clamp With Multifunctional Jaw for Woodworking, Drilling, Sawing, Metal Working" by ZHRMJZG, priced at $24 for this review. This is a decent 3" bench vise, at a fair price. At about this price ($20 to $35) there is a huge variety of 3" bench vises online and at your local stores. This one has some differences (pros/cons depending on one's needs):--the movable grip rides on the frame, instead of rods--it is well-made and well-finished (better than Harbor-Freight, Walmart; similar to Home Depot, Lowes, WEN; considering the cast metal vise, the metal grips, and the main-screw)--it is on the med/lighter-duty side compared to 3" this price range--the "soft"/rubber plastic grip pads are low quality; the hard plastic pads are better; the black cylindrical posts are ok but their screws are junk (there is no thread to screw in and they pop right out, if pulled; they look like M4-35mm, I will replace them with some M4-40mm/45mm and nuts)--the base (attachment to table/bench) is pretty wide and better-made than most at this price rangeAs a vise is a solid 4star, considering its price (incl. shipping at home) is a 5star, and one needs to spend twice as much to get a markedly better vise. On the other hand, a vise typically lasts for decades.
