I love this series! The characters are great to follow, you laugh, you might cry, you get mad and you might even agree with them . I really like how each one of these stories are written and how the characters play in each one. I definitely recommend this book as well as all other of the series.

I liked the wonderful relationships among several generations, in a small community and the addition of newcomers to town. The love for their community and traditions, and acceptance of changes that will need to be made to save this community from going from town to city was heartwarming. Dorothy of the title is the glue that hold everthing and everyone together. I can remmber folks like her from my childhood Born in 1939!!!

I enjoyed an introduction to this small town and it's people. Of course, there are always troublemakers that interfere with the flow. Dorothy is the sweet main character who everyone respects and seeks out for help. A light, enjoyable read.

Dorothy fixes everything for everyone, but she is not a gossip or a busy body. This is a thoroughly delightful book about a small town that becomes divided over the conversion of an empty old building into a mini mall of boutique type shops by a woman who grew up there, left and made it big, and has returned. Jake, Dorothys son, a high powered lawyer, has also moved home to a more simple life. They become involved in fighting those who want to keep the town totally back in time and close the mall. The fight would put a totally unqualified man in as mayor. Dorothy steps in and works out a plan to gather forces and the fun goes on. They include getting another one over a big time developer. Really fun romp and you'll see why Dorothy is Dearest!!!

It is a time of peace for me to return to Partonville whenever I sit down and open to the page where I had last read. It is a place where you would love to live, know the people like they do in this quaint town. I would way a ton tho with all the great cooking and baking. We need towns like this in this crazy world. What a blessing it is to be there for just a short time. What a gift from God to have been for me.Keep up the great work your readers need Partonville

I have enjoyed reading this series, it's underlying story of the joy of living even through tough and painful times in our lives, it's strong theme of faith in God and love for people. I would highly recommend it, especially to those feeling old and tired and like there is nothing purposeful in their lives anymore. The books are easy reads, but certainly not just fluff.

GREAT read!!! I've read all 6 of the Dearest Dorothy books and wish there were more! All characters are well-developed and realistic - how does the author DO that?? She's never been a 16 year old boy or a 55 year old lawyer/son - among others. But I found myself believing in and loving every character in the books; Hence - when will there be another so I can find out what the citizens of Partonville are up to now?!?The books are "easy reads" with good, clean stories. You aren't held captive waiting to find out "who dunnit", but you will be pulled in and not want to put it down until you're finished. Oh, and I love the element of Christianity throughout - but I wasn't bonged over the head with it.
