I'm sued to the usual hard plastic mats for under your office chair so you don't mess up your wood floors or gets stuck in shag carpet.The New Desk Rug is really spectacular. While it looked nice int he plastic packaging it arrived in, I was blown away with how soft it was. It was like those really soft blankets we all love so much, and this is for an office! Impressed very much by this.I tested it with our office chair and it works like a charm. It truly is machine washable, and I'd suggest doing it on cold cycle as that will keep it's light colors looking sharp and vibrant much longer.Great gift idea.

This is an unusual rug in that the pile feels like a fleece blanket, not your usual rug material. It is super soft to the touch and very cozy on your feet. Since it is folded, it may take a while for it to flatten completely but it isn't super noticeable at first glance. It is a great size and would be perfect for a home office, which is where mine is now. The backing seems to be non-slip and doesn't slide around under foot.I know that daily use will put the "pile" to the test but I don't see any major indentation where I had a non-rolling chair sitting on it. It is definitely a value and I'm even considering putting it in my guest room next to the bed. It is definitely pretty enough for a bedroom, nice neutral colors and fits a unisex decor. The guest room will have less wear and tear vs an office chair mat. Overall a great value especially for the size.

I was looking for a mat to go underneath my desk in my new office room. We have beautiful original hardwood floors and I didn't want to scratch the finish with my rolling chair.Pros:So soft under barefeet!The pile is not thick, so my chair rolls nicely, instead of getting caught up in the rug fibers.Thankfully the pile is not too thin either, so I'm not playing roller derby with my desk and rolling away so much all the time.Truly, a Goldilocks thickness overall for the rug too.Doesn't slip on the floor AND doesn't need an additional rug pad too.Cons:Measure, measure, measure. Do NOT go by the picture in the listing! The picture makes the rug seem like it's a lot bigger than it is. 3 feet by 4 feet barely fits under my desk, not to mention the space I need for rolling the chair away from the desk. I've turned the rug sideways to go under my desk and give space to push my chair out, which works for me. This size rug is not big enough to "ground" a desk in the middle of a room though.The pattern wants to appear like it's a faded, worn out persian rug, but it's just screen printed on the pile, so you're fooling no-one. The "blue" is largely cream with blue accents, so time will tell how clean it stays.Overall, the pros outweigh the cons & I would buy it again!

I wanted to upgrade my guest bathroom, and loved the look of this rug online, but loved it even better in person! Online it looked a bit lighter overall and the darker colors looked more gray, but I was pleasantly surprised that the pattern had more contrast and the gray was actually a very pretty muted navy blue that went perfect with the towels I had already purchased. And under bare feet, it is sooo soft! My husband doesn't really comment on stuff, but when he walked in the bathroom, he said "wow this rug is so soft, have you stepped on it yet?"! So husband approved!
