I liked the diamond impregnated surface because plaster wears almost any type of sandpaper quickly. I also liked the size of the blocks and the assortment of grits. The only issue I had in using it to smooth some pool benches is that the rigid surface can’t be used in rounded corners. For that I had to use the flexible plaster sanding blocks (e.g. from Home Depot).

Used every one of these pads and they held up well. It is important to use a lower RPM drill or buffer

Bought these for my master bath remodel and they work great for smoothing edges especially when making complex cuts. They are just like sand paper for wood products but made for tile. I would highly recomend these!

It does not look like there's much diamond abrasive on the pads. And it certainly does not feel like there's much abrasive on the pads either.
