I purchased this for cutting extremely thin microscope slide cover slips for model window glass. I was using a carbide tipped scriber, as other modelers recommended. It worked, after a fashion, but the diamond makes a muchfiner line, with less pressure, resulting in a cleaner break and fewer failures.
