Disappointing to use. It comes apart at the attachment areas while in use, no matter how much you tighten them. Also the slots are too large to work with our sand or maybe it’s because our chickens are younger. If it works better at filtering when the chickens get older, then I will update this review.

The 10" scoop is the perfect size for my small coop. I appreciate being able to extend it to 70" to reach all needed spaces. It does feel a little flimsy when fully extended though. I guess that is the trade off for its somewhat light weight. Lastly I wish the spacing on the grate was a little narrower as it is difficult to pick up smaller debris. Overall it will suffice.

This product is genuinely so bad if I could give zero stars I would. First of all the sifter kept getting loose and wobble so I had to constantly re-screw it on. Secondly, I freaking BROKE!!! I’ve only had this for a week or two I think and the sifter just broke off. What a waste of money…would never buy again!!!

The Short: It works, nothing fancy about it. If you're looking for a way to scoop up chicken mess without having to get up close and personal with it, then this'll do the trick! The Long:* Long handle so you're not having to bend down, but you also don't want to scoop that much as well since it can get heavy.* We use wood chips in our coops and this does a nice job of scooping out the chips that get mixed up with their bathing sand.* We also use sand in our potty trays that are under the roosting bars. I can take out a couple of the extension rods to shorten the handle and this does a great job of scooping the poop out of those trays.* Simple build and so far has lasted cleaning out the ten coops we have.* Totally worth the $20 to make this chore a bit easier on the back.

This thing works great. We have multiple chicken runs and coops as well as duck pens. We use the pine bedding pellets for horses that you purchase at tractor supply, we dampen them so they turn into a fine sawdust and then we use these to sift out the poop, the only area that we don't do with the plain bedding pellets is around the duck ponds which are the blue Kiddie pools with flat rocks laid around them. The entire rest of the duck run is sawdust from the pine bedding pellets. These things are such a godsend as they make clean up a total breeze. When you go through the sawdust, you can literally just sift it by side by side like you would do with a cat box to get the cat litter off of the poop. Everything else drops out. And the poop stays in the sifter. Same concept here. The coops stay nice and clean and all the poop is removed quickly and efficiently.I will definitely never be without one of these in my groups again. We used to use a shovel and you ended up losing most of your pine bedding pellets when you had to clean the coop. This is so much more efficient and less wasteful. I am currently reviewing three of these. And I am giving this a five-star because it works perfectly just as it is. I did try another one that had a handle to the side. That I do like slightly more. But this as it is is a perfect scoop and works wonderfully.

As someone who maintains a mid-size chicken coop, I’ve used this adjustable scooper several times. Here’s my take:- Adjustable Handle: The telescoping handle adjusts up to almost 70 inches, making it easy to reach deep corners of the coop without straining my back. The rubber grip is comfortable, and switching between lengths is easy. Great for outdoor use and big enclosures.- Sturdy Build: The metal head and stainless steel handle feel durable (hopefully it won't rust). Everything screws together securely. The assembly took less than five minutes, no tools needed.- Sifting Limitations: The scoop’s holes are too wide for fine debris. Wet clumps or small particles slip through, which isn’t ideal for thorough cleanups. However, it works well for transferring dry bedding, hay, or scooping larger waste. I’ve used it for spreading fresh straw, and it did great.- Easy Maintenance: The non-stick surface rinses clean quickly. No lingering odors, even after messy jobs. While not perfect for small debris, this scoop is good for messy tasks. If you need something for basic cleaning or random material handling, it’s worth considering.

I purchased this scoop hoping it would be useful for both my chicken coop and the multiple catios I maintain. I use it daily and was really hoping for a sturdy, versatile cleaning tool. Assembly was quick—under a minute—and I appreciated that the adjustable handle reached a good length without needing to bend or crouch. Unfortunately, while the idea is great, the quality didn’t quite meet my expectations. The pole feels too flexible, and when extended to its full length, it bends easily under even a modest load. The head also tends to unscrew during use, which makes scooping more frustrating than it should be. For anything heavier than one cat pile, it really struggles to hold up. It's a great concept, but in practice, it feels too flimsy for daily use in a multi-animal environment. A sturdier gauge of wire and a scoop that could be screwed to a wood pole would be a much better option.
