Reviews are a big part of my decision making & since these are all over the place, I'll share what I think is going on. I hope this helps. There are two, similar yet very diffferent, items: Mattress toppers & mattress pads. It seems some people may buy this pad expecting a topper and are naturally disappointed.Toppers are intended to add a layer of cushion to a mattress. They're usually filled with polyfilling or foam and are sold as 1", 2", 3" , etc. Indicating the thickness. If you're looking for a topper, the thickness & cushioning material should be clearly stated. Some are made of low quality, weak foam that really doesn't cushion so a low-quality 3 inch topper may not be as comfy as a high quality 1" one..... Just sayin' for topper shoppersMattress pads have some type of light fill so may improve mattress comfort a bit, but, cushioning is not their main purpose. They're meant to offer varying degrees of protection for your mattress. Some are waterproof. They can be laundered which is sure easier than trying to clean/refresh a mattress. Some mattresses are covered with synthetic, aka non÷breathable fabric, in which case a nice mattress pad can also allow you to sleep on a more natural, breathable surface. As mattress pads go, this is a great buy! The sleeping surfacee seems to indeed be cotton. Which to me is the most imprtant part. The sides that tuck under feel synthetic as they're stretchy to make putting it on easier yet won't affect sleep quality. Synthetic fabric on the sides may be part of what keeps pricing down The light layer of fill feels like polyester which is typcal even for mattress pads at much higher prices. Whenever I find a mattress pad at this price, they're usually 100% sweat-inducing synthetic materials. No smells which others have mentioned so maybe they've changed their manufacturing. It does fluff up some if left to rest for a day but it's not going to expand significantly. You can probably find better pads, like 100% linen, which would be 10 to 20 times the cost, so for the money, this one is hard to beat. I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a nicely constructed, decently comfortable mattress pad.

I - AM - SO - PLEASED!The queen mattress pad cover arrived early. I popped it in the dryer to fluff (15 minutes) and it came out like a CLOUD! I highly recommend this pad for its beauty and comfort. You will not be disappointed when you remove it from the dryer!

I have purchased many items off of Amazon and the reviews almost always influence which product I will purchase. Not all extremely positive reviews work in my best interest however and this is one such case. I unpackaged the cover and let it hang over a clothing rack for 3 days and the picture shows the result. Does my cover look similar to the picture in the advertisement? My wife and I slept on it for one night and we both agreed that it added no benefit. The reason we purchased a padded cover is that we had no clue that gel foam toppers can get so hard in the winter (we leave the window open somewhat). So we took the gel foam topper off and wanted something in its place. Before writing this review I read all the one star reviews and I am in full agreement with all of them. I really do not understand how any reviews were at 5 stars. I will say that the seller honored the return policy and that their reply was prompt and refund immediate.

I want to preface this review by stating that I do not consider this product to be a "mattress topper". I mean, I guess technically it is since it goes on top of your mattress, but it's not in the sense that using this alone over your mattress isn't really going to add additional loft or softness. So if that's what you're looking for, this isn't the product for you and you will likely be disappointed. However, this makes an OUTSTANDING cover to put over top an existing memory foam topper, or even memory foam mattress, if you are experiencing any type of overheating. Memory foam is comfortable, but not exactly cooling, so a product like this can become a lifesaver. The reason why this one is so effective is because it's made with a cotton shell rather than the typical polyester/microfiber most cheaper covers are made from. Typically, a low thread count natural fiber material like cotton is going to be way more cool and breathable than man-made fibers. Cotton also tends to be more durable. In any case, I was surprised at how much of a difference this product made in reducing how hot my mattress felt. I also really appreciate the generous sizing of this thing. This will no doubt fit pretty much anyone's mattress unless it's more than 21 inches. The fitted material is also much better quality than other mattress covers as it's more like a sheet and not the usual mesh-like material.Get this if you are looking for something to add coolness to your mattress, but don't get this if you are expecting this to be a pillowtop. To get the maximum benefit from this cover, make it the very top-most layer on your bed, under your fitted sheet. My mattress is set up like so: mattress inside a waterproof mattress encasement, 3" memory foam mattress topper inside a waterproof encasement, then this cover on top. If I were to add any type of additional cover on top of this (like a waterproof cover) the cooling benefits would be lost. I still cannot believe how just a simple cover like this has made me sweat less and keep me cool. For that reason I consider this cover a "must have" for anyone struggling with the heat memory foam traps.
