With just one cut on the downspout, this installs quite quickly. I attached it to a rain barrel I bought on Amazon with a length of Craftsman rubber garden house and the barrel filled up quite quickly.

Good design, better than many of the drain water collectors. Keeps from getting large pieces. Works well .

Instructions are pictures and of little help but it's not difficult to figure out you need to cut the downspout and insert the device. It takes some maneuvering to get the cut downspout to fit correctly in the slot provided but that is really the fault of the easily deformed downspout. It captures a surprising amount of water even though it has a large passthrough hole, I suppose 90% of the water in the downspout travels attached to the side so the design works.

As you can see I didn't follow the directions but I am not finished and wanted to get this in before a big rain storm. It filtered all the big particulates out and I added a stocking between my 2"pipe fitting to catch the smaller stuff.Install on alluminum downspouts can be a little tricky but as long as you have even cuts and file some edges after it will slide in easy.

Easy to install and works well. Worth the cost. Used a 55 gallon plastic drum painted to match house.

The threads don’t quite align with standard brass female hose 3/4”, so be careful not to strip the plastic threads.
