The box is not deep enough for the switch to fit in it!

I used this switch to install a safety shut-off on a shop-built router table and it works well. I’d prefer it if the Stop switch were a big paddle but, nonetheless, it still works. The problem I ran to, however, was tightening down the wire screws. It seems that they thread into only plastic and it seems I went a smidge too far and stripped the threads. I had to fall back and solder the wires in place. Still works, but was a hassle dealing with that. It’s a useful switch, but not the greatest quality.

This was ordered to replace a cheap switch on an old 1 HP 14" bandsaw. I've installed a few of these switches and they're rated for a lot more than 10 amps as was described in the listing. I thought it was probably a typo and ordered it. When it arrived I checked the the label on the switch and it shows that it's rated for 2 HP at 120 vac, a lot more than 10 amps. What I found was that the cord connectors are so small that you can't get more than an 18 awg cord through the connectors, which is rated for 10 amps. The design of the box is such that you can't fit a larger connector in either.I ended up tossing the j-box and mounted it in a deep box with an extension. It was an added expense, but the switch was useless to me otherwise. If you have an application using 18/3 cord it'll work, but for anything more than 10 amps get something else.

Very tight fit for wire 14awg or more. Made for 16awg. No ground connection. No wiring instructions included. Not made for good wire connection.
