I have been using a cheap seam ripper that came free with my sewing machine. I didn't realize how useless it was until I bought this quality one. Works like a dream. Saves so much time if you need to quickly rip out some stitching.I am sure I will have this the rest of my life!

I work for a fashion company doing the warranty repair work on all of our leather bags and luggage. Before I picked up this stitch picker I was using either an extremely tiny seam ripper or an ice pick that I blunted the end of to avoid scratching the leather. This particular seam ripper has been a huge blessing for me! It's large enough that I can hold it easily, the grip is comfortable and I can't remember ever having it fall out of my hands or cause any cramping, I also love that it is so easily visible since my tiny stitch picker was a shade of brown that blended in with everything and this is two shades of green that are hard to miss so it's one of the few tools that I never lose, haha.I would highly recommend this product to anyone who needs to pick some stitches. My tiny seam ripper snapped in half when I was trying to flip it over to pull out a stuck stitch, this one has plenty of strength that I've never worried about really torquing it down to get any stitch that I need to pull and it's never failed me!

Mostly, I bought this because it's bright green and difficult to lose. I probably have five seam rippers around here and can't find any one of them.Works beautifully, easy to grip. I do wish it were a little longer; I have large hands and it feels a little short sometimes. Otherwise, it's a great item. And I haven't lost it.

Decided to take a chance on these & so glad I did. Besides being my favorite shades of green it has made taking out stitching & cutting buttonholes so much easier. Plan to order extra one. When I find any tool that makes my life a bit easier I like a spare or two on hand.UPDATE: February 25, 2019 Still loving this seam ripper. Use it all the time & it is super comfy to use. Going to toss out the old ones get a couple more of these. Anything I really really they discontinue making it.

I have been sewing since 1974 and I have always used a tailors knife to open seams. Lately I've been having trouble holding the thin knife. I kept getting cramps in my hand because of how thin it was. So when I saw this, I decided to try. It is wonderful. No more cramping and dropping of my tool. And it is sharp. I never liked using those small seam rippers. I would recommend the Ergonomics Design Large Seam Ripper and will be buying another one for my daughter and granddaughter to use.

I originally had a different seam ripper from another brand which was the red handle ones made out of just plastic and very skinny but I misplaced it somewhere. I had to get a new one because I wanted to hem my little one's pants for a wedding. The tip works like most tips. it cuts thread fine. I do not noticed anything amazingly different with the tip compare to my old one that I had. What I really like is the handle and the rubber grip. It really does help make it more comfortable to hold so you feel you have more control. Another plus is that it comes with a cover to protect the tip and the good part is that the cap snaps on to the end when in use so you do not have to lose it and it also makes the handle longer too if you want that option. Overall the material seems like it is very durable and made of good quality. I recently used it to open the seams of the back pockets of my new pair of pants and it worked great.

This is the only seam ripper I have managed to not lose and it is because it is my all time favorite. It's so nice to hold and doesn't cramp my hand up when I'm ripping a seam for then third time because my silly, sleep deprived self attached a piece upside down. Again. It's a little more than I thought I'd be willing to spend when I can just go to Walmart and get a little rinky dink one for $1 but seriously, it's worth every penny. I'll never own a cheap Walmart one again.

This is an awesome little tool, with a very comfortable handle (thumb grip is soft silicone). Way better than cheap ones with tiny plastic handles that are awkward to maneuver. No snickering, it's not actually being used to take out seams; we do a lot of baking around the holidays and it's great for cutting open vanilla beans. I got tired of mangling them with a knife - when you scrape out seeds you're also scraping up fibers that look ugly in whipped cream. Use the tool's long pointy end to make a small slit in one end of bean, flip over, insert the shorter end with red bead in the slit and "let 'er rip."
