I tried to install this fine tuner as the E post for my Violin. Unfortunately the mounted collet (on the tuner body), was too large for the mounting hole in my tailpiece. This is a high quality tuner, but it may be more appropriate for the A string on a Viola. I was unable to mount and use this item.

Before purchase, I measured the tadpole length, 4.3mm dia, 5mm length, and it should be able to fit. But the reality is, you need at least 11mm total to fit this, 12mm or more to be able to do any adjustment by rotating the screw. Otherwise, it won't even fit.By the way, this is NOT dual use. The stem diameter is very large, only Vision, Infeld has large center hole to fit in.Don't mislead by the fancy language. Don't buy, it won't fit in most of the cases.

Stradpet has done it again. I was already using the titanium fine tuner by Stradpet before I bought this one, but when I saw this new design, I just have to try it. It’s the best I can find on the market. Very secure on the tailpiece, the light weight made the tone much clearer. Bravo!!

I needed something that yielded the proper string length behind the bridge and something super light to not mute the vibration. This is the perfect solution and I will be ordering one for each of my instruments. It's also great because it can use loop and ball- no more worrying about ordering the wrong string.Immediately after I put it on I noticed a big improvement in the resonance and clarity of my A string. I was having problems with my A string sounding kind of muffled and nasally and I was using a wittner stable- style tuner. After a conversation with my luthier he recommended something like this to improve the sound.The packaging was really good and it came with a free chinrest adjuster (see pictures).
