I used this as a wildflower bouquet container to be carried by our guest of honor. It was lovely and served my purpose. Tio use this to carry particular heavy items (bottles, casseroles, etc) may not work well. But as a picnic basket of sandwiches and light food items, I think would be perfect and lovely.

My costume for Halloween this year is Little Red Riding Hood. And of course she has to have a basket. So that is why I bought it. I won't be able to take my purse with me so this basket will become my purse for the evening. Because it doesn't have one, I am going to have to make some sort of cover to go over the top.
