Sweet little locking 'biner, great for setting toprope anchors since the stainless insert won't wear out your rope, keeping it cleaner too! Very smooth barrel that locks up tight. The larger version (HMS) is best for a plate/ATC belay device.

Great for a sport anchor set up for running a top rope through bolts. I’m surprised they’re the only company doing this. They work great and will last longer than standard aluminum. I would recommend anyone building a top rope anchor for bolts to buy these for the rope end. They’re the best on the market from my point of view. I don’t expect I’ll be needing top rope locking carabiners again in next 5 years at least.

These are nice carabiners that add little weight, but extend the life/performance of carabiners. The steel insert is in an area of high wear traffic, and combining these with other bulletproof carabiners can make great anchor draws.

Keeps your rope and hands clean! If you’ve been climbing for a while you’re already familiar with the grey/black lines a well-used rope can leave on your hands and everything else. That stuff is aluminum oxide and it comes from your aluminum carabiners. Eventually the rope wears a groove in ‘biners as the aluminum rubs off & onto the rope, your hands, etc.Anyway, *this* genius little locking biner solves the problem with a stainless steel insert, placed where the rope runs. Boom: no more black aluminum oxide on your rope / hands & no more grooves worn in your gear!Use a couple of them on your top rope anchor or anyplace where your weighted rope runs: a bolt you’re lowering off of, your ATC when rappelling (here it’s actually a little small - a bigger pear shaped biner would allow the rope to run more smoothly but this one’s lighter so it use it; ymmv). Use ‘em as much as possible and you’ll be surprised by how clean your rope - and everything else - stays.

This biner works great for TR set ups or for using on a quad or other anchor if you will have lots of ppl using tour ropes to TR in after a lead. Easy to use, nice gate action, and the steel inserts help with keeping the ropes cleaner and making the gear last longer.
