I researched several of these tools before buying this one, and I am glad I did!This tool works very well, the connection to the handle is very solid and sturdy (Despite how the pictures look) The blade comes very sharp, and the tool works wonders in my garden.You might worry about just cutting off the top of weeds, that's fine, you can, and cover with a heavy cardboard/mulch. But it works just as well to break up the dirt and get further down on the roots to pull them up, or cut them deeper.This tool saves me a lot of work in, and around garden beds.The addition of the included sharpening stone is nice too, but I have not yet used it (And may have misplaced it. Whoops)

I mountain and gravel bike. When the trails start getting overgrown, this highly portable 5-inch blade quickly clears a section of singletrack so riders can maintain their "flow" without getting their legs beat up by tumbleweeds and other thorny shrubs. The thick, leather sheath keeps you safe during transport and it fits comfortably in most mid-size or larger hydration backpacks. It's a light weight and durable tool. BONUS: A sharpening stone is included in the purchase.

I got this to help in my gardens, and it works very well, either in removing weeds, or breaking up hard chunks of dirt. CAUTION: The edge is VERY SHARP, be careful in using it that you don't injure yourself. I definitely recommend this, especially if you have hard clay soil.

This is the best weeding tool one should have to weed the garden. This is the second one I bought and I love it. Easy to us, does really a good job in pulling or just cutting weeds. I constantly use it and never go into my garden without it.Highly recommend it to any gardener.I would like to open an issue with Amazon. I wish they did indicate when we buy something how it will be delivered. They sent this tool via USPS and they are really awful and too often packages are disappearing from USPS. I had a big issue in this area and my tool was redelivered via Amazon own trucking service.

Wonderful. I used it to clear heavy ivy and weeds, cutting them at the surface. I was also able to use the blade to cut through roots like an axe. Very sturdy and sharp. Does a great job.

I have really enjoyed using this tool. It is easy to slice underneath large patches of sod. However, the groove on the upper part of the handle sits in my hand on my right ring finger and has caused a pretty sizeable blister-turned-callous (even with gloves on). That's my only complaint about this tool. I would much prefer a solid wood handle without that groove. Next time I buy one of these tools I'll consider that. It is very sturdy and has withstood me yanking up patches of grass with the blade. I haven't yet worried about the metal blade pulling away from the handle.

I had 3 raised beds that were seriously over-run by weeds. It would have taken many hours to get rid to the weeds. Moreover, it looked like such an overwhelming task that I put off weeding for weeks. Of course, the weeds grew taller in that time.I ordered this gardening tool with the hope that the ad and comments were real. They are!I cleared the raised beds in record time. Not too much effort on my part. A bonus was that if you drag the tool through the soil after you you weed a section, it will till the soil down for several inches...Makes the soil available for seed planting without additional work.I used a small garden bench to get my rear about a foot off the ground. Strongly suggest using one to ease your back. The tool is long enough that you can reach far enough to get distant weeds .There are several similar tools available on Amazon. I chose this one because it came with a leather case. It was a smart move. The tool is wickedly sharp and must be covered when not in use.In summary, best gardening tool I have.

I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with this product! Every year my neighbor's red maple deposits thousands of "helicopters" on my lawn and garden beds. This year we had an extraordinary amount of rain, so all those little copters sprouted into thousands of little shoots in no time at all. The ones that sprouted on my lawn were annoying, but I could just cut them down when I mowed the lawn. The ones that fell on my gardens were another story. Weeding became a full time job. Then I read reviews of this product on Amazon and decided to give it a try. It changed my life. This product did everything the reviews said it would. I was able to de-weed all my gardens in about three hours. The tool digs them up, roots and all. The fact that it comes with a protective leather sheath and a sharpening stone influenced my decision to buy. It was some of the best money I've ever spent.
