Bought three of these to top the stair posts in a Canadian century home. They all matched in size and design, however one was made with a slightly different material and was lighter, not sure what was up with that… Anyway I used all three and put a coat of white trim paint on them to add to their resilience. Anyone who is using them for the same purpose as me might consider drilling a hole in the finial and in the top of the bannister and using a piece of Dowel to secure with some construction glue. The price was good and the final outcome was exactly what I wanted.

I’ve been looking for a decorative pineapple/artichoke finial for quite some time. Either their huge because they are intended for the garden or their super expensive and out of my price range. I have used this brand for ceiling medallions in the past and decided to give this one a try. I painted the piece in some cheap chalk paint (Decor Art Chalky Paint - also purchased from Amazon) in white and then did a dry brush with a gray chalk paint over some of the raised details to give it a bit of an aged/distressed look. It turned out super cute! And in the end, nobody but me knows that it started out it’s life as styrofoam!

When I purchased this I read it as 4 1/8 inch finials ... ie ... I would be getting four, however, there is only 1 4 and 1/8 inch finial so be warned. I do still plan on using it for something Else though

I love this thing. I’ve wanted to put a “pineapple” finial someplace for so long, but it didn’t make sense in my modern-style house. But then I inherited a beautiful Victorian and it had just the right spot on the downstairs bannister.All I did to install was drilled a hole in the top of the bannister and the bottom of the pineapple and used a sturdy oak dowel to do the connection. Glued everything in with Loc-Tite. Then I caulked a little around the bottom to make it blend and painted with a white high-quality indoor latex paint. It looks awesome and like it’s been there since the house was built.I’ve also mindlessly done that thing where you go down the stairs fast and grab the finial at the bottom, and it hasn’t so much as budged. So, install success!

This item is as described. It well made and looks really good for what I wanted it for. I put it on top of an arbor.P.S. Sorry for the grainy pic. Too cold and with snow on the ground I just didn't want to go out for a nice pic. But you do get to see the final outcome of howit was used for in a "grainy sort of way". Thank you.

Completely changed the look of my staircase. I was able to secure them with wood glue and then color matched to make them flush. I love it!
