Notes:
Make sure all joints are tightened during installation, but do not use excessive force to avoid damaging the threads.
Check the position of the gasket to ensure that it is correctly placed between the joints and is not skewed or stuck.

Perfect for holding Smart Water bottles to either end of my regular-sized Sawyer: one with unfiltered water draining into a clean one on the other end. I've used this approach for over 1,000 miles of hiking and cycling, and was lost when I misplaced my older one of these. I have no idea why they included about a dozen hose gaskets, I'll toss all but one.

I honestly use a Sawyer mini, but I still wanted to toss this in my spare gear collection. The important thing to note about this is that the washer is actually suspended between the two bottles simply by its tabs, there is no ledge for the washer to seat against. Well this might make it more difficult to achieve a watertight seal, or make it more likely to lose the washer itself, it's actually unnecessary in a gravity feed configuration.What I did think was interesting is the fact that the part has a different top and bottom thread finishing, but I tested it on a standard bottle and it thread it on just fine.Ultimately, I do think it makes sense to support the Sawyer name brand that this is an obvious copy of, but if that part is out of stock, it is great to have options! The price at time of writing is on par with the name brand, and I do like that they toss in a stack of good quality washers (Good rubberiness good texture indicating an ability to seal).
