This is great for protecting a hand made rug from unraveling and skidding.

It works & was easy to apply! It was the consistency of yogurt... very smooth. I used HALF the product on the backing of these TWO 20"x34" rugs. I only did ONE COAT. Before applying (with a small paint brush), I put painters tape around the edges, to keep them clean & removed the tape before letting it dry. Before my rugs slipped all the time & NOW THEY DON'T. I haven't washed them yet, so only think I will wash very gently, when I do. Spreads white & It dries clear overnight.

I purchased throw rugs from amazon and they slid all over the floor. I purchased this item to help keep the rugs from slipping. However, this product wants to peel off from the back of the rug. Now I have a real mess as the product does not work. I am very disappointed in both of my purchases.

I love this stuff, carpet tape and all that other stuff does'nt work like this. I croquet rugs and this is aweome for them.I have all wood floors and none of my rugs move at all. I also croquet slippers and this works just as good. I'm gonna keep stocking up on this wonderful product. There is nothing else out there in my book.

I needed to fix my slippery bathroom 10 square feet rug. It was easy to apply with a paintbrush. However, it barely covered my rug with single thin coat. My rug button was heavily damage with many bold spots. I would need the second box to cover with the second coat. After few weeks the rug stays put.The fresh product has strong odor but the odor is gone after it tries. I tried my rug for 2 days before using.

I have four chair pads with a rubberized grip finish over foam. The fabric side is still in good condition, the bottom not so much! I really don’t like throwing things out unless they’re completely worn, so I thought this would be a good repair. I’ve had the pads for four years and with daily use, the rubberized finish has partially cracked and worn off. They have also lost their “grip” and they were sliding around on the wood dining chairs. I previously tried to cut rug grip material to hold them in place, and it worked for about a week and then they started sliding around again. Happy to say that yhis stuff seems to have done the trick! I used a rubberized art painting tool to apply it and it went on perfectly. I was able to seal in the exposed foam also, it was like frosting over a crumbling cake in parts. I let it dry in the sun, where it dried fairly quickly. I might add it to the bottoms of a couple of rugs that I have also, because they also have stopped gripping. I’d say give it a try if you’re at your wits end.I applied it outside, it had almost a musty smel like mushrooms, didn’t bother me. Didn’t smell toxic, as I feared it might. Cleanup was easy, I just wiped the art tool with a paper towel.

I was very dubious about this product but had the old problem of slippery rugs on wood/laminate floorsIt is absolutely BRILLIANT and I am really shouting BRILLIANT,was applied and left to dry it WORKS no movement at all in any directionIt is so good that I have had to order some more to do more rugs,as I have already used a whole tubIt is strong smelling when it’s being brushed on with a paint brush but once painted on I placed it in a room with a window open while it dried and now there is no lingering smellThis product needs 5* plus does what it says on the tin

I think I had a mixed experience with this product. I work with a furniture company, and sometimes they toss fabric samples. So instead of letting them throw them away, I decided that I would take a few of the larger samples home and turn them into rugs. My research led me to this product, which I purchased around October of last year. I was really hoping to get a chance to use the product on other fabric samples than the two I used (which were a rough kind of polyester blend), but time ran from me. I’ll update this review if I ever get back to tying some of the other textures.PROS:-Well, it did sort of work, once I painted on 4 layers.-Didn’t scuff or scratch our floors.-I guess the amount in the tub is okay. I put 4 layers on two rugs, and I still had about half of the substance left over.CONS:-Dear God this smells terrible. Like something searing into your brain and nostrils. You HAVE to do this outside and with a fan running away from you or you’ll get lightheaded from the fumes.-Slow drying. Would take hours to dry each layer.-You’ve got to use a generous amount of product in order to cover the rug. I tried doing just the corners, but that didn’t work. Then I tried doing just squared lines, but that didn’t work. I ended up having to cover almost the entire back of the fabric scrap in order for this product to work.-Even after 4 layers, my roommate’s dog would still skid the rug across the floor when she walked over it. I’m not sure why I, who weigh more than the dog, had less of an issue.-Difficult to clean off the paintbrush. If I didn't completely wash and soap every scrap off, there were these rubbery strings stuck in the brush that essentially ruined them the next day. (And this WAS after washing them. I guess I just didn't do it well enough.)THE VERDICT:I never ended up washing it, so I can’t attest to how well it would stand up to that. I think it works better for smaller things (like slippers and boots), and thinner rugs that you may have. My rugs were probably at around ½ an inch in thickness, and I had to keep putting on layer after layer of this stuff on them. Even after 4 layers, it wasn’t completely non-stick. I’ll probably check out another product next time for my needs, to see if that ends up being any better.
