Luckily, I read other reviews before ordering these. We had a last-minute costume change before a competition, and had to get shorts in a hurry. These shorts are TINY and at least three sizes small; my daughter usually wears a children's size 8-10/M and she was barely able to fit into the size large shorts. They did the job for what we needed them for, but I probably wouldn't buy them as regular dance apparel, especially when the sizing is SO far off standard dancewear sizing.

Got a medium and they were too small for my extra skinny 6 year old...she can only wear them to bed...

Loooove the material . Just what I was looking for. I got the small for my 3 yr old niece and they barely fit though. I will probobly be getting the med. The quality is what is great about these! :)

They run a size smaller. My daughter wears a 7/8 i ordered a large and they fit her perfect.

We ordered these shorts with another brand for my daughter. I was not entirely sure what size to order, so I chose medium. She is 8 and wears 8 slim jeans. I was tempted to return them after she tried it on, since they were somewhat tight and more like bloomers in length. We decided to keep them to wear under dresses, but to wear on their own as originally intended I would have ordered a larger size. Luckily the other brand fit as intended.

Shorts run very small. I ordered a size larger than what my daughter normally wears and they were still too small.
