Warning: This lid absolutely does NOT fit the Marie Bain two quart stainless steel pot. The pot is useless without the lid, and the lid is no good without the pot. The lid is about a quarter inch too small in diameter.

Good lid but did not quite fit the 6 qt bain marie we bought. So maybe aske before you buy what partner fits it. Good enough to use though

What could go wrong with a lid? How about the little bar handle breaking off while removing the lid's plastic shipping bag. That was my experience. Probably not a good idea to wear sandals while holding this lid by the handle. The spot welds securing the handle to the lid are totally flawed. I ended up drilling a hole in the lid and attaching a porcelain knob. I saw this lid had already had one bad review when I bought it but I reasoned by now the problem was probably corrected. Wrong! This is the only lid offered up to fit this bain marie pot. Any alternatives Amazon?

Brand new stainless steel top. See the little handle? It's nothing more than a little strip of stainless steel, fastened by a little weld at both ends. One end came off. Bad weld. I haven't decided if I should send it back or get the thing welded somewhere in town. Keep your boxes, keep your receipts.Update: I brought the lid to a local automobile repair shop, where a young mechanic welded the little handle. Tip: When TIG welding stainless steel, turn on the zenon gas. Otherwise, the weld gets oxidized, which looks like crap and tends to leave a very poor weld attachment. I told them I didn't care if it looked pretty, and so they brought it back ugly, but functional.
