I actually got this to use as part of an escape room I made for my kids' party, but it worked so well that we now use it on our detached garage (it stays locked and we often forget the key). It was simple to program a code, and the lock rotates easily and opens smoothly. It seems quite sturdy, so we're comfortable using it to secure a key.

I'm not selling my house, but I like the idea of having a key available in case someone needs to get in to my house if I'm not around. I don't like the idea of my key being under a rock so this was a perfect solution. I love that this lock box has a little window slide cover to protect the combination from the elements too.

There are two +80% user rated lock boxes for storing keys on Amazon: the Faayuck and MasterKey. Here are the ADVANTAGES and DISADVANTAGES of both:.1. REPUTATION: MasterKey is a named brand in the key lock industry with a reputation for being reliable and durable. Faayuck is a no-name Chinese generic..2. PRICE: MasterKey sells at $32. Faayuck is priced at $14..3. SECURITY: The standard thickness for the steel container is 3/32". That includes the swing door. The Faayuck is 1/16" or 33% less. Also, the lock mechanism looks less robust. The parts appear undersized and "toylike.".4. STORAGE SIZE: The storage area for the Faayuck is huge. Many keys, including auto FOBs can be stored..5. DURABILITY: Nothing is waterproof. Moisture, rain, and snow invade and rust everything inside. So, I spray WD40 on the inside and lock mechanism to prevent rust. I put my keys inside a small Ziplock bag before storing them..The device needs to be protected from annual rain storms, snow, and bad weather. So, I wrap my storage device in a small plastic bag, secured with silicon bands. Make sure that the bottom is opened. Water needs to drain..6. INSTRUCTIONS: Directions are terrible. The instruction sheet has very tiny text. The fonts are so small that a large magnify glass can not enable reading. As a result, the user has to improvise and play with the lock mechanism..RECOMMENDATION: At 44% the price of the MasterKey, the Chinese generic provides a huge metal storage box for storing keys outside the house. Although the thickness of the steel container is 33% less and the lock mechanism is minimal, remember that such products are not 100% secured. To open the box, hit it several times with a hammer. It will eventually come apart. Or, view YOUTUBE videos on opening the device..Anyways, this product is better than hiding your housekey under a rock. It is also more convenient.

This was easy to install and won't come off the handle that I have and the code was easy to set. This was a better value than the other one I had which was a push button that was screwed into the door frame (loved it but twice the buttons locked and my key became stuck in it) this is a combo lock that fits nicely and if needed can be disassembled unlike the frame mounted one. I love that there is a little slide door blocking the code from the elements as well.

Ordered this to securely store an external door key on my property. That way we can selectively give the code to someone if we need them to feed our dogs, etc, but can also change the code afterwards to revoke access if needed.It's a nice stout box and wall mounting it was dead simple. There's pre-existing screw holes so you can drill and screw straight through the body. No templates or guessing needed.I would (and probably will) order another for our other properties.

This lock box is very secure. I feel like it will keep my things safe. I like being able to know my things will not be accessed without my knowledge. If I ever have any doubts it's super easy to change the combination to it. The handle on it is great! I can hang it anywhere. It even has holes in the back so I can screw it to my wall for additional security. It seems to be made of strong materials and it would not be easy for someone to break into.

This lock box is very solidly built with some real weight to it, providing security so that it would not be easily removed or damaged without first unlocking it. There is room for more than one key and the hook Is of sufficient size to fit well on most door locks but not large enough to allow it to be slipped off without first opening the hook. You can also remove the hook and attach the box to a wall or post. The best part is the resettable code, making it easy to use and with no fear of not having the key with you at the time needed, or losing the key. The resettable code also allows you to be able to provide people with a code and if you later want to restrict their access, you just change the code. This is a really good choice if you need to store keys for several users without having to make multiple keys for several people and then keep up with who has keys.
