These fishing tools replaced older ones that were in my tackle box. I particularly like the fishing pliers with multi-purpose jaws. These work very well for removing hooks from fish and for crimping sinkers. I also made good use of the fish gripper, especially during those times when I forgot my glove and had trouble holding onto a slippery fish while removing a hook. I like that the entire kit came with a nice zippered pouch. These tools greatly simplified my fishing tool kit.

I really like the fish grippers in this set. They are nice and powerful and will work great for fish with teeth such as walleye and muskie. They're compact enough to keep in your boat, or in the side of your tackle bag. The split ring pliers are very stiff to use. I have a few sets of split ring pliers, and these are my least favorite out of all of them. I wouldn't buy this set for the pliers.

I like to keep my fly fishing kit light and compact, so I found that the pliers are a useful addition to my kit, but the rest of it gets left at home. The plier’s sheath, the lanyard, fish gripper and case are not worth bringing along since I never use them. OK pliers, but the rest I can live without.

This set does exactly what it is intended to do. The pliers seem to be well made and the spring that keeps them open, when not locked, is very helpful. The ends are tight together so grabbing small things like hooks is easy and the cutting mechanism actually cuts! Having a lanyard and carabiner is nice because it allows the pliers to dangle but not get in your way without giving up ease of reach. The fish grabber has a nice tight grip when it is deployed, and I have no doubt this can handle a variety of fish.A couple things to note:-This set comes with a sheath for the pliers as well as carrier for the two pieces. I this carrier is really unnecessary for most because these tools are such that they go into a tackle box with everything else and the case takes up a lot of space (relatively).-The grabber has a mechanism that is operated with a spring. The sound of the spring moving is obvious, and I wonder how long it will last in a saltwater environment.-The pliers themselves are a little small and thin. I attached a picture next to an i-phone 15 for a reference of size and thickness. I have average sized hands for a 6' tall person, and they are functional for me.None of these things are deal breakers and overall, I think this is a nice set.

I can’t wait to use these two pliers to unhook my fish from deep-seated hooks next spring. I see no reason why this won’t be perfect. The carabiner is a great idea to keep from having to dig for the pliers.

This is a combo set of fishing pliers and a fish gripper. The pliers have an elastic band with a carabiner attached for ease of access when needed without slipping into the water. They include a tip specifically designed to remove hooks, but also a cutting edge for cutting line or whatever else is needed. The gripper stays closed in default position, and only opens when the actuator is pulled back. This allows you to grip the fish's lip, then release the trigger without the fish getting away. It closes flush but not so tight as to damage the lip, just hold it secure, giving you a MUCH better handle, especially on fish with teeth or barbs. Great little set, nice addition to any tackle box, no matter the kind of fishing you do...
