This item is exactly what I wanted.. a simple non-complicated manual mandolin. I needed something to use to prepare a quick salad. The slices are very,very thin and the blade is not adjustable. The blade is very sharp but I'm not sure for how long it will remain sharp. Time will tell. Also, it is very easy to wash after using. I do own a Mueller mandolin which is much more versatile and it's great for more complicated recipes. Please wear protective gloves to prevent slicing your finger. I rate this product five stars and definitely would recommend it. I hope that my comments have helped you.

Nice slicer, very easy to use and store. The blade is sharp but not sure how long it will stay sharp for. Price is pretty low as well!

Love the product, works great! Only does one size - very thin, but for the price it’s great. Works well and cleans well and blade is very sharp. Safety wise I would be careful as it would be easy to accidentally slice a finger.

This is a very low priced product, so to compare it against similar items that cost 3 - 4x as much isn't really fair. This is a very basic model of mandoline slicer, and if you're either an infrequent user of a device like this or not sure if you'll use it, this is not a bad place to start. It has a flat surface and a sharp blade, so it gets the basics right. That's why it gets a four star review - it's priced appropriately for what it is, and does what it promises.So... what's missing vs. more expensive models? There is no ability to adjust the blade height - it's one size fits all. There's also no extendable legs or other functionality to allow you to set it on a counter and still slice. There's no container to capture the items you're slicing. There are no other blades or attachments. You won't be doing anything fancy with this, but it doesn't pretend to be fancy.If you're just looking for bare bones at the lowest possible price, you found it.

It's easy, quick and cheap. It is a one-size-fits-all solution, and sometimes you need a different size. So that keeps it from five stars sure. There are going to be times when the thickness that this shaves your veggies at isn't the thickness you need.But huge upside is its compact size, and you toss it in the dishwasher when you are done, very clean and neat.For me personally, 60% of the time, it is exactly the tool I need for slicing. Well worth it.
