perfect carabiner for carrying tools on a harness... bonus it is life-ratedthey are durable, light and out of my way.I have battle tested them for years in staff gear at multiple aerial parks.

UPDATE: Ok, I have to drop my rating from 4 stars to 2 stars because this problem of sharp, unguarded, rope fraying/cutting lettering has proven very serious and very difficult to solve. I'm providing some pictures so that people can see my three best ideas. Duct tape works fine, except that it creates two sticking points that prevent rope from easily sliding past the duct tape edges. Nail polish is better than nothing, but the edges remain somewhat sharp even through the thick clear polish. Sanding the lettering off with 200 grit sandpaper is difficult, time consuming, but works the best, assuming that the corrosion to follow isn't a big issue. If you look at the omega pacific standard oval carabiner in the pic, you'll see that their lettering has smooth round edges and is embedded within guard edges. My single braid nylon ropes slide on these omega pacifics effortlessly and beautifully. The contigua II carabiners grab and noticably fray my ropes if they even brush them one time, which is a nightmare. I wish that I'd gone with 4 or 5 Petzl spirit or djinns, instead of this 10 pack of highly annoying fusion climb contigua IIs. Live and learn.ORIGINAL REVIEW:These are pretty good, but I have tried hard to find out where these are made, and still have no idea. (No answer in the minimal packaging, either, nor online.) The measurements are not quite accurate. The width is less than they say, not quite 2 inches, and the gate opening is .53 inches or tops .56 inches, not .675 inches.One thing annoys me: the writing on the longest side stands out (opposite of engraved) and the letters have surprisingly sharp square edges that slightly snag and slightly fray my braided nylon ropes. The letters have sharp enough edges that I can use them as a nail file. To avoid fraying and snagging my ropes I'll have to wrap some duct tape on each carabiner spine--kind of annoying, and just bad design.Still, these 10 were on sale for just over $40, and these are fantastic smallish keyhole carabiners for that price, even despite the one flaw.
