Preheating Mode
The detector will access to the 180s' countdown preheating mode after powering on. POWER green indicator will steady on. Do not perform any other operations on the device during the warm-up time, because the alarm will have no response (The purpose of preheating is to adapt the gas alarm to the temperature and humidity in the installation environment).
Detecting Mode
The device enters detection mode (normal mode) after the warm-up mode:
Nothing will be displayed on screen except “- -” showed every 17 secs and the green POWER indicator lights on.
At this point, the alarm can be tested: press the TEST button to test the device, the test alarm time is 3 secs. During test, "8888" showed and ALARM indicator flicker, the device sounds “Di...Di...”.
Alarm Mode
The values 1000-9999 and HHHH will displayed on the screen according to the different concentrations of gas leak. When a flammable gas leak is detected, the alarm will present different alarm status. (Please note: the values shown on the screen are in PPM and 1%LEL=500PPM). The following X represents the flammable gas leak value:
X <1000PPM
When the X < 1000, the screen does not display numbers, and the alarm does not sound.
1000 ≤ X < 2500PPM
When 1000 ≤ X < 2500, the corresponding numbers will be displayed, the alarm does not sound. It‘s a early warning of gas leakage.
2500 ≤ X ≤ 9999PPM
When 2500 ≤ X ≤ 9999, the corresponding numbers will be displayed, the Red ALARM indicator and the top red strobe lights keep flashing, the device sound a hasty and lound alarm.
>9999PPM
When the gas leak concentration exceeds “9999” range, the “HHHH” will be displayed. the Red ALARM indicator and the top red strobe lights keep flashing, and sound a hasty and lound alarm.
How to install?
Natural gas consists of methane gas that is lighter than air. In case of the gas leakage, natural gas will rise to the ceiling and gather to the surrounding areas of ceiling. Therefore, for natural gas, the detector shall be installed 30cm below the ceiling and 1.5m distance from the radius of air source (Please install it in an appropriate location according to the height of the ceiling).
LPG consists of a mixture of Propane and Butane, which is heavier than air. If the gas leaks, the LPG will fall to the ground. Therefore, for LPG, the detector should be installed 30cm above the floor and 1.5m distance from the radius of air source (Please install it in an appropriate location according to the actual environment).
Note: Do not install the gas alarm near places with too much water vapor, dust, oil and smoke, which may affect the alarm sensor and cause false alarms.
Testing Method:
Press and hold the lighter switch, close to the gas inlet of the gas alarm and deflate slowly (Don't ignite the lighter during deflating).
Please Note: Do not open the gas stove for testing without the guidance of a professional, which is quite dangerous!

These need to be close to the gas source. As they're electric rather than battery and electric outlet needs to be close to the stove, a problem if no such outlet is close enough.

Gas detector works very well. To test I let gas out of my stove without igniting it. Holding the sensor a couple of feet over the burner sounds off the alarm right away, even when just barely letting gas out.I really like that this shows your ppm on the display when the alarm goes off.Install was quick and easy

I do a lot of propane work in my garage fixing/testing and using RV components as well as heating my garage. As a result, I have a myriad of detectors throughout. After the detector warmed up which is the initial countdown and also the sign of a good detector. I blasted some propane at it and it immediately went off indicating the PPM. Shortly after, some of my other detectors went off so I had a room full of warning sirens going off. oops. I didnt test any other gas types, but for propane it works flawlessly. IMO, this is a great value for a propane detector that works great not only for my usage but even in an RV or home fueled by Propane. I didnt prefer the cord coming out the bottom, but that is just because of how I wanted to set it somewhere and it would be great if there were some 12v terminals on the back. Again, just because of what I personally do. Just using a normal 5v power brick is a great feature and is so easy to install anywhere with a pretty long cord. Definitely a detector I can rely on!

Can be mounted using the supplied mounting tape or the included screws. Powered by a usb power cord and separate power supply. it works just as the instructions conveyed. The display shows a digital readout in parts per million (ppm) when the alarm goes off. The display is empty when operating and there is no alarm or fault. It will show a count down when it first powers on to show it's warming up. The display will briefly show a couple of dashes, then go blank when it's ready to detect. Great for keeping in the cabinet space below a gas cook top to detect leaks or near a gas furnace or any gas supply line. Can provide some peace of mind when using gas appliances. Keep the instruction booklet and run the test periodically to ensure it continues to provide proper protection.

Got this detector for my garage where the gas line comes in to my hot water heater (the pilot light had been going on-off). Prior to installing, I tested over my gas range and it seemed to do the job detecting the natural gas. Installing near my hot water heater was easy, but I did have to relocate a bit given the power cord they give you wasn't that long -- especially since I had to place this above the gas line since natural gas is lighter than air. Other than, pretty happy with this.
