Bought these to replace/re-enforce old double gate. Didnt even attempt to mount. First, the metal is fairly thin and feels flimsy/cheap. Second, the diagonal braces are welded to edge instead of the flat crossmembers resulting in substantially weaker design. Last, the hinges are a joke. No depth for mounting to post with picket runners. The barrels are also facing out rather than in preventing flush mount. Giving it two stars instead of one b/c it might work for someones tea party courtyard gate but in no way could this work for flush mounted inline standard picket fence.

the product is not heavy duty and not strong enough for driveway gate either as advertised , it will work well for small gates .

These brackets made it relatively easy for me to build a new front gate for my property - yay! I didn't need to create a diagonal cross piece to prevent the gate from racking. However, the welds inside of the brackets prevent a flush fit; and also make your gate slightly bigger than expected. My dad had to come and take my work apart and cut down the pieces that fit inside the brackets so everything would fit better.

Not heavy-duty at all. I bought 4 for 4 wooden gates and they are weak, cheap metal. Very disappointing. Do not buy them. I want a refund, my return window closed June 7th.

I used this to build a gate for our goose blind. These take a lot of abuse and are always sagging and falling apart. This one never will. It's like a tank!

The brackets and other components were good quality. I substituted some screws with better quality but only by choice. The supplies were likely sufficient.

Hinges are way to small for anything. They barely can support the weight of themselves.Welds are terrible.Metal is flimsy and they rust fast. I ended up having to replace them after a month do to this and sagging.I wish I could have gotten a refund, however I decided to give them a chance. These are a light duty item that needs to support a gate. It just can't do it.Pure garbage.

I had bought another set of these from another seller which were much bigger, and not advertised for driveway gates. There is a huge difference in the size of the doors needed for just a gate in a fence [ these will be perfect for smaller gate doors] and an extra long driveway gate which should be able to accommodate a riding lawn mower with a side chute for the rear bagger and dual doors which should accommodate a vehicle. I just don't see these small brackets as being large enough to support the kind of weight and size of doors needed for a driveway gate that accommodates vehicles. The ad for this product lead me to believe it could do larger doors and was the sole reason I bought two. One larger set I bought I had to return because the metal was really bent, and I didn't think I could get it to be straight. I didn't desire to build a door that could not sit square into the door frame. I bought 2 of these as a replacement thinking I'd use them for the driveway. At least I have two more doors to build for my fully enclosed pet runs where I can use them instead. The second larger set I bought made a perfect door for my huge walk in mess free duck pen. Those bigger brackets would easily do a driveway gate to accommodate my riding mower. I may order another two of the larger brackets just to make it so I can have a driveway gate- just as long as they come straight and not bent. The best thing I noted about these smaller brackets is their durability and straightness as they weren't bent out of shape before I even bought them. The welds on every bracket of this style I have purchased so far have bulky welds on some of the inside corners that hold the wood out from being completely flush with the brackets. Not a plus for neat freak builders, but every set of brackets I have bought so far has this problem, so it is not just this product, but all of this style. BTW this style bracket is great for grandma builders who were never carpenters by trade. If I can build a decent perfect cornered door out of them you can too. None of them come with instructions. If you can't figure out the brackets with and without the hinges just line up your hinges on one side in the direction you want the door to open and then look closer at the pictures. Print one or more pictures out if you've got to.

The hinges on this product aren’t up to the task of holding a heavy wooden gate - I purchased to replace a similar product whos hinges have bent over time, but the hinges on this highpro product are much much thinner, they are so light duty I wouldn’t trust them on a hollow internal door so I returned it as the description on Amazon page (heavy duty) doesn’t fit the actual product’s specifications - it’s a shame because the other parts of the product looked heavy duty, they just skimped on the hinges, the most critical part.

Just wanted to try these with an over sized gate. 8' x 8'. Also small fence door.Seemed to hold the weight. See how they last over the next few months. I like that you can't see the hinges, nor can someone unscrew it from the outside.

This gate corner brace is terrific with one caveat. Because of the way this particular item is set up with its bracing and the hinges incorporated into the design, the four 2x4's needed for the top, bottom and two sides must be virtually perfect with no bends or bows and especially no twists or it will never, and I mean never, look or hang correctly... guaranteed. Also to help you out here, a really flat assembly area is gonna be a whole bunch of help. Otherwise, the gate may not be assembled in the correct plane and will not hang correctly. Your pickets or whatever your using to face the gate with can be a bit imperfect, but make sure the frame pieces are as perfect as you can get or there will be some cussin' going on.
