Fits 2007 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport, no issues. Quality Gates, which I always seek out when buying belts, thermostats or timing kits. Affordable for good quality.

I have a 2006 Subaru sti. Tested it out and it opened around 185 but fully when it hits 190. Make sure you buy the o-ring. Never reuse it.

Works perfectly as it should. Cheaper than oem Subaru but does exactly the same as its intended purpose. Comes with the rubber gasket as some manufacturers don't include it.Make sure the pin/float is at the top when installing. Much cheaper than oem part

Installed on a 2004 Subaru Forester and the car overheated on first drive. Had to reinstall previous used thermostat to get the car back up and running quickly. As other reviewers have noted the valve size is much smaller than OE. I am not sure if it was because of that, or just a failed part, but either way it is junk. I have used Gates products several times in the past without issue, but after this and their "perfect fit" top radiator hose that was a total joke, never again. Save yourself time and wasted coolant by only doing the job once with an OE part.

its a good practice to test any new thermostat before installation, and this one worked great out of the box. i checked it by microwaving a mug of water and then dropping it in with a food thermometer to see if it opens at the designated temp (170f in this case) and sure enough it worked perfectly.

Failed. The thermostat failed and left my radiator hose exploded because I refused to stop and get my car towed instead. Call it stupidity but I call it getting home. Of course now my car had head gasket problem. 500 meters away from home and hose blew up. Went to Napa the next day and the only thing I kept from it were the gasket.Learn it from me. Test your thermostat first best installation. Save you more headache. Because I didn't do that.

Installed this on my 2005 Subaru Forester X, works and the car no longer overheats. The car suffered from a malfunctioning thermostat, so this was cheap and OEM.

Works fine and fits fine. Replacing thermostat on '97 Legacy. Looks different than the one I pulled out, but since I bought the car at 16 years old, I have no idea if the one I pulled was original. Car was intermittently overheating, so I replaced the thermostat, coolant, and blew a little debris out of the radiator. Hasn't overheated yet. Hopefully, this all takes care of the issue.

So I tested this one and also the Subaru OEM thermostat. While this says it opens at 170, it actually wasn't open until about 190, which the Subaru OEM thermostat did also, so for all those of you who keep hearing that you need OEM (3x the cost), I wouldn't believe it. They both look exactly the same and they open and behave the same in boiling water, so maybe one lasts longer than the other? I don't have that information. I just changed a Subaru OEM thermostat with 7years and 71324 miles on it. I wasn't having problems, just a maintenance item. So maybe others can post how long they've had these in their cars....

Good product, buy Gates thermostat whenever you need to replace the old one, I bought 2 other ones from Autozone - bad, overheated the engine, then bought a second one from OReilly - special order, supposed to be good, same frustration, overheated engine, a mechanic finally told me to buy Gates, and now I have no more overheating issues.I want to mention that both previous purchases were made for my vehicle specifically, so no guessing, and I almost damaged my engine, so again, I really recommend Gates products.

If you have a Subaru you should be using this heavy duty thermostat with rattle valve. Also the metal in this valve will resist electrolysis. The rattle valve will assist in coolant recovery. I like this valve. It is good quality but delivery was slow. It came with the gasket. The stat was installed after the head-gasket went in my Subaru went and blew out the radiator. Also the old stat that was installed and not a heavy duty stat use to whistle as the engine cooled down. Not really a problem except for people telling me my engine is making a noise.
