These are crappy strings. The G string broke just as I started winding in on the post. It was nowhere near full tension. Apparently, Amazon doesn’t issue refunds for broken brand new strings. I’ve been changing guitar strings for over 40 years and this is the first string that has ever broke before I was ever able to tune it. I’ll never use Gold Master Tone strings again. These were expensive strings at $18+ a set. Never again will I buy an unknown brand of string. D’Adarrio is the way to go. I bought these Gold Master Tone strings because they have a loop end for my 6-string banjo. After the “Goldtones" failed miserably, I installed a set of D’Adarrio Phosphor/Bronze acoustic strings and they worked great.The ball-end stings were much easier to install than messing with a loop end. Lesson learned the hard way.

I bought Gold Tone strings to replace the strings on my Gold Tone AE6+ banjitar assuming that the set would match the original strings. The strings came with loop ends instead of ball ends. Hey Gold Tone, your six string banjos are not designed for loop ends! I spent lit of time removing and replacing the brass barrels. I will never buy these again!

Good quality strings for an instrument that's not well covered by the manufacturers gives a good bajo tone.

I bought these for a Rogue banjitar. They are of decent quality. I did have to struggle with a couple of the loops to stay put while re-stringing, but otherwise ok. We'll see how long they last :)

Had one string break on the loop end when installing. Lucky I bought a second set or I'd be hooped. Had to be careful installing the only other string to make sure that didn't break also.

This item arrived in a timely manner, and the it is a well packaged item. The strings are wrapped individually in six paper pockets labled "1" through "6" so there's no confusion.As for the quality, the consensus around here is that they are excellent. I don't play any instruments, but my wife and several members of her family are semi-professional musicians, and they really know their equipment. All say that this is a fine set of string with good sound, feel and craftsmanship.So far, they have only been used in two gigs (in my wife's band), so time will tell after future play dates if they hold up over longer periods of use. I'll keep you all updated as to how these strings hold up -- but for now, these are as good of quality strings we have seen on the market based on a lot of musical experience.So we give this set 5 Stars, and will update if anything changes.

Not sure who makes these strings for Gold Tone, probably GHS, whom ever, I like them. Perfect gauging, loop end, play in quickly and last well. What more could you want?

I've tried several types of strings but none really worked for me before these. They get that proper "banjo tone" and have an even sound across the strings. I was concerned about the heavier gauge bass strings but they are exactly right. They are quite comfortable to play and don't sound boomy or muddy. I play a Gretsch Dixie 6 and these make it sound and play the way I imagined when I ordered it. If they last, I will stick with these. They are a little pricey but worth a try.
