So far so good as a water jug for our chickens. The spigot sets a little more loosely than I’d like but is not leaking. The lid goes on VERY tight and is hard to get off. I filed down the inner lip of the lid to make it easier to pop off while still holding itself on.

Manufacturer states this is made of recycled materials. I see no markings anywhere on the packaging or on the barrel itself that reflects this. Arrived to me partially crushed in the box. Black screen that water flows through won’t let much water in.. maybe 25%. I replaced mine with some window screen to allow water to pass through. A sticker they placed on the factory screen for California’s Cancer warning label was hard to fully remove and blocked water flow even more.

Quality is not as good as the best trash can (about $45 at Home Depot), but since it comes with the faucet and the hole to install it, the price is about the same. I wish it was a bit more sturdy.

This barrel is big, sturdy, and tall. Super easy to setup, the top is removable, which is super cool.I’m only filling it up for the first time, but it looks great next to my house and the lid is sloped just perfect for leading water in and not to much extra room that leaves and stuff collect.

Only thing you need to know is when you get an inch or more of rain, it will likely fill to the top, so we added another spigot about 3-4" under the overflow drain hole (about 10" below the lid) & attached a hose which we run out into the yard, so it doesn't overflow next to the house. Waters the yard, & we can wrap up the hose during the dry times. We had to purchase a flexible adapter from the downspout to the opening in the top of barrel, & we put a screen over the end, as this barrel didn't come with one. Keeps the grit from the shingles & an other debris out of the water. Can also use the hose to water larger flowerbeds. You don't get really high water pressure -- even when barrel is full.

There is an area that drains from my roof where there is no down spout resulting in pooling rain water that found its way into the basement. I replaced the provided lid of the rain barrel with screen wire and placed it beneath the area. So far it is working catching the water. If I leave the tap closed it accumulates and I have water to water flower beds or I can allow it to drain through an attached hose and disperse out into the yard. I am very grateful to let the wet vac rest.

Easy to install. The lid came warped from being jammed into the box but nothing that couldn't be fixed by putting something heavy on it for a day or two. Product looks great in the garden. Very happy with our purchase
