Installation Tips -

Bushings: We recommend a .340" diameter reamer to cut a clean, accurate counterbore for the bushings. Fit the press-fit tuner bushings correctly so your tuners will work smoothly.

Mounting screws: Pilot holes are required for the mounting screws. Installing delicate screws into hard wood requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend a No.44 drill bit for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

I bought these tuners to replace the worn original tuners on my 1965 Gibson ES-125 guitar. Rather than drill out the holes for the larger size bushings that come with these tuners....I just used the original bushings with these tuners. They dropped right in using the original screw holes. And they work smoothly and efficiently. I'm glad I got em!....:~)

Refurbished a steel guitar with these vintage turners. These were exact replacements.

Gotoh generally make good quality tuners. I was looking to install these on a 2018 Gibson Les Paul Junior to complete the look, but the string posts seemed a little short. The string holes were just too low on the posts, which meant that there would not be enough clearance below the hole for more than one string wrap on a low E or A string. Not sure if this means that the 2018 LP Junior has a slightly thicker headstock than a vintage LP Junior, or if these posts are too short. Regardless, I thought this would be helpful info for someone looking to swap out the tuners on their 2018 Junior.
